Over the years my family has greatly enjoyed the Little People line of books and products for children. We have some of the toys and videos, and we also enjoy their line of Lift-the-Flap books. Although we have several others, I wanted to try this one because of the Biblical theme of Noah and the Animals. There are 5 short paragraphs of reading total, so this would be a very quick read as a bedtime story. However, there are 50 flaps to open and other activities such as finding themes of objects on the page-- such as "Find all the apples - there are 8". So the possibilities for different age groups are wide-- read the story to your toddler, then play with the flaps and activities with your preschooler.
As far as the religious themes, God is mentioned three times. There is no mention of those who died in the catastrophe or the reason for the flood. It's presented in a very innocent fashion, appropriate for young children.
I wish the book had a few more pages, as there are only 10 pages of flaps. But given the subject matter, I believe that's as much they could have done with it. A wonderful product!
