      I have not read this entire book. I thought I was getting the story of the deer. This is not the story of the Deer, That would be Bambi by Felix Salten. This book is about a young adult named Bambina (Bambi for short). Five stars are indicated simply to keep from judging the story wrongly since I have not yet read it.

      If you are able to read circa 1914 language and not be bored by it, this is a good book. You have to give it a chance. Get used to the language used. Some cultural things might get in the way of understanding the book too. But, it is a great read.

      I, like many of the reviewers who have posted, got this book in the assumption that it was the story of the deer that Disney made a movie of..I learned quickly that it was not, however, my disapointment disolved once I got further into the read to find that the story was actually rather charming with quirky characters and an interesting plot..it's not a story everyone could get into, but I did find it a decent read, concidering it's free.
