So here I was, visiting the new Four Seasons in Vail to listen to my friend Don Watson perform in the Lobby Bar. Great music, I couple of Beers, some Olives, and 3 hours of fun and sing-alongs. There is this book on the table, and being a Ski-bum myself of 20 yrs in Vail, I read it while we all listened and sang. I was not to sure that some could explain, especially the subtleties of weight transfer, tipping the skis on edge, etc. Skiing is a sport, like most, of mileage and form. The way Chalky explains it makes sense and allows me to use his words to help my non-ski-bum friends, as I am not a teacher. I would recommend this book to ANY skier, beginner to expert, to hone in on the subtleties of skiing. Read, this, refer to it, and most importantly get out there and SKI!!!
