Praise for Family Cursemas:

"A must Read! You won't be able to put it down! The Megamillionaire Murders will have you on the edge of your seat." - Pamela Sims, Amazon reviewer

"An entertaining read with wonderful characters and a fast-moving story. I recommend this one as a tonic for anyone who is getting though their own dysfunctional family Christmas, or who just wants a great read for the holidays...or any days..." - Brian Loube, Amazon reviewer

Book Overview:

When the wealthy Goodman family assembles for its gloomy annual holiday reunion in their divorced mother's crumbling mansion outside New York City, Holly Singletary is pressed into service by her own domineering mother to help cater the Goodman's elegant Christmas Eve dinner.

What begins as a single evening turns into a three-day nightmare as "the storm of the century", the heaviest blizzard ever to hit New York City, causes both families to be snowed in together for the holidays with no electricity or cell-phone connections to the outside world.

But someone - or something, perhaps the ghost reputed to live in the sealed-off East Wing - has chosen this Christmas to kill off the Goodman family one by one.

Trapped with the killer, Holly and Ivy find themselves irresistibly drawn to each other. Against a background of violence and tragedy, their passion ignites, and only Holly, who reluctantly comes to realize how deeply she cares for Ivy, can solve the mystery of the murderer's identity before Ivy becomes the final victim...

More Praise for Rod Kierkegaard, Jr.:

"I've been a fan of Rod Kierkegaard Jr. since the 1970s. Ever since first reading his comics it has been a passion of mine to seek out his work. His unique style of illustration and sense of humor have always captured my imagination." -T McNamara, Amazon review of Obama Jones & The Logic Bomb

  • For hilarious political commentary on the (hopefully not inevitable) extrapolation of political correctness into 2049 America, search for Obama Jones & The Logic Bomb
  • For a high-concept cerebral technothriller with plenty of action to boot, search for The God Particle
  • Also from Curiosity Quills Press, The Stein & Candle Detective Agency series will be appreciated by lovers of detective "zombie noir" with a dark horror twist.

I really enjoyed this holiday (horrid-day?) story
from Rod Kierkegaard. We begin on Christmas Eve with a traditional
rich-meets-poor scenario (the main character, Holly, is part of a family who
is catering Christmas Eve dinner for the super-rich Goodman clan) and
quickly escalates to mystery and murder, and a pretty good romance to
boot. It's an entertaining read with wonderful characters and a
fast-moving story. I recommend this one as a tonic for anyone who is
getting though their own disfunctional family Christmas, or who just
wants a great read for the holidays...or any days...

Wild, wild, wild! A marvelous setting for a murder, for several for that matter. The Goodman Mansion is a rambling edifice with multiple wings and bedrooms, a mysterious walled-off section and a reputation for being ghost ridden. Into this fabulously wealthy Goodman family, for whom "dysfunctional" is much too mild a term, comes an Afro-American catering crew to handle the Christmas dinner for a slew of relatives, near relatives and others who pass as friends. The mystery is nicely spiced-up with a budding romance between Holly, an army reserve sergeant temporarily helping her mother out on this catering job, and Ivy (Ivor) the younger male of the Goodman menage. The snow comes down thick and fast, the mansion is soon cut off from the outside world, the suspense is awesome, the ending will stretch the reader's credulity--but what else is to be expected from this truly weird collection of Goodmans? All-in-all this is a very difficult novel to beat when it comes to holding the reader's attention
