Una simple pregunta....¿no podría ser un poquito más caro?. ES por saberlo porque, de esta manera cada disco no sale más que a unos.... 50 euros.

One of the finest Rock groups in newly remastered, pristine hybrid SACD sound 19 de octubre de 2013
Por Michael Birman - Publicado en
Formato: CD de audio
Their first album, simply entitled Yes, was released in that crucial year of the Moon and Woodstock: 1969. Rock was in ferment, a period of awesome creativity, experimentation and heightened expressiveness. Although it was a crowded field, there were a few artists who stood out as historically important from the first. 1969 lofted Led Zeppelin, Crosby Stills and Nash, Rod Stewart, the Allman Brothers Band, Black Sabbath, Neil Young and Crazy Horse, Hall and Oates as well as Yes, just to name a few. With the release of Yes, the band revealed itself as masters of complex, polyphonic Rock that featured brilliant instrumental work and stunning vocals. Yes were the first of the as yet unnamed "Progressive Rock" groups (Genesis and Emerson, Lake and Palmer weren't formed until the following year). With their first album a new genre and several sub-genres were created. The importance of the band cannot be overstated.

Listening to all 13 albums released by Yes between 1969 and 1987 I am struck by how their career exhibited a striking arc initiated by their absolute peak of perfection between 1969 and 1972 and their first 5 albums. This was followed by a progressive decline in creativity that began in 1973 with their sixth album Tales of Topographic Oceans and the onset of a series of personnel changes that had a deep impact on the band. There was a secondary peak in the 1980s that featured a pop oriented sound which was phenomenally successful: their 1983 album 90125 was triple platinum in the U.S. Although I am a huge fan of early Yes, I can appreciate their later work, at least in parts.

High Vibration is a limited edition 16 SACD box set, featuring the 13 albums released by Yes between 1969 and 1987 and including the live album "Yessongs" as well as a bonus disc. The collection also includes an informative 200 page book that offers a history of the band, background information about its members, photos, a discussion of each recording and pertinent discographic data. The remastered DSD sound for both the SACD and the standard redbook CD layers is stunning in its clarity. I can hear levels of detail in the complex instrumental and vocal arrangements that have never been revealed before. Vocal textures have an almost satiny smoothness and refinement that must be heard to be appreciated. The band's multi-layered instrumental work has a Classical music intricacy and sophistication coupled with a Jazzy rhythmic excitement and funkiness that sounds timeless. Both qualities are accentuated by the brilliance of the DSD remastered recordings. Every album sounds great, with the newer recordings obviously having a more modern urgency and presence. The set contains the following:

1969 Yes
1970 Time And A Word
1971 Fragile
1971 The Yes Album
1972 Close To The Edge
1973 Tales From Topographic Oceans 2CD
1973 Yessongs 2CD
1974 Relayer
1977 Going For The One
1978 Tormato
1980 Drama
1983 90125
1987 Big Generator
2013 Bonus Disc of Rarities

This is a very pricey box set, designed for those who really love the band and feel the need to hear them in the finest high-resolution sound. High Vibration delivers on that promise, so if you come under the heading of a Yes aficionado who is well-heeled enough to afford this collection, I promise you that you will not be disappointed. This is the finest Yes collection that I've ever heard.

BEST SOUNDING SET available on the market 20 de abril de 2014
Por Wondering_aloud - Publicado en
Formato: CD de audio
Being one like most collectors of Yes, I have gone through countless versions of the same album(s) for years (5 different sets owned of at least the first 10 album releases.) Going from vinyl to CD (various remasters since the CDs first came about, gold CDs, DVD Audio 5.1, SHM CD's from Japan, Warner Bros Japan Fragile 5.1 SACD, Audio Fidelity SACD hybrids and finally this box set). The AF releases CTTE and GFTO are definitely lacking in comparison to the counterparts in this set, often less "airy" and slightly harsher, to these ears. Remastering from 2013, this is the pinnacle of the Yes catalog sets with the first 8 being my favorites, and without a doubt, rivaling even their best vinyl counterparts including the beloved MFSL LPs!!! Pricey for the quality?...Sort of, but when you consider this is a 16 piece set, (13 albums (15 discs) and a bonus disc) the cost is $29.26 per album and bonus disc or 25.25 per disc, considering 2 are TFTO and Yessongs double discs. Packaging is jewel case rather than mini-LP, and the box is well designed, unlike other collections that kind of just throw the discs into the package, ala the Pink Floyd Deluxe box sets. If you can afford it, get it, BUT PLEASE REMEMBER THAT THIS IS A HYBRID 2 CHANNEL SET, like all that have come before and after. Although the 5.1 versions are slowly coming out on Blu-ray 5.1 audio, neither the titles, nor release dates are set and I can't imagine Mr. Wilson taking time to do the whole Atlantic catalog, with everything else he does. So I would recommend picking up the Blu-rays as they come out, choosing your favorites, but picking up this set for the BEST SET in stereo available, if sound is important to you. Cheers...8)

A glorious YES! 4 de julio de 2014

This SACD/Hybrid box set is absolutely drop dead fantastic!!! Yup, it is a bit pricey as has been noted, however, if you're a YES fan like myself it's a must have! The sound of these CD's is above and beyond my expectations - my ears usually fatigue from too much digital (I'm a vinyl hound), but, these babies are nothing short of phenomenal; smooth tones from crystal clear highs to majestic lows - what more can you ask for?

not neutral like Steven Wilson's recent mixes 14 de agosto de 2015

This set sounds clear and punchy, not neutral like Steven Wilson's recent mixes. If that's your bag, fine of course. If you don't mind some
flash and pizzaz in your music and want to have the best Yessongs version available then check the High Vibration box (while its still available).
No you don't get all the bonus tracks released with the Rhino remasters but what the hell, in the end it's about the classic albums, and they sound glorious and fresh in this here Japanese Box.

Don`t bother, 5.1 is coming on most yes albums, just like the 2013 Close to the edge version in blu ray 10 de diciembre de 2013

Don`t bother, 5.1 is coming, in high definition and 5.1, just like the 2013 Close to the edge version. So buying this is falling again in the countless versions of Yes catalogue. I bought the LP, the cds. the remastered cds, the japanese HD versions, that were supposed to be the ultimate great thing, and then came the SHMCD japan versions that , this time, really were supposed the ultimate audio of Yes.
Now they are selling the 24 bits versions in sacd, very high priced like this box, and online- downloads too, better priced in my opinion.
But Wait and get your money ready to be shaked from you, Yes fan, once again! yes... Steve Wilson just remastered Close to the edge, in hi res, stereo and 5.1, so... I forgot to mention that i will get this ultra new versions somewhere else and for free, i am tired of this expensive never ending audio quest.
