Descripción del producto

If I Should Die delivers a stunning, deeply satisfying conclusion to the international bestselling Die for Me trilogy by Amy Plum.

Kate is devastated. Her boyfriend Vincent is a revenant who waited lifetimes to find her. But once he did their future together was shattered almost immediately. They were betrayed by their trusted ally, Violette. She killed Vincent and destroyed his body so that he could not be reanimated.

Now Vincent is doomed to roam the earth as a spirit. But Kate isn’t willing to accept life without her true love. She’ll risk anything to save him, even as Violette, their friend-turned-enemy, begins to wage a war to rule over France’s Immortals.

Amy Plum created an intricate, original mythology for her YA paranormal series. The books, set in Paris, the City of Lights, introduce readers to revenants, undead beings who must sacrifice themselves again and again to save the lives of strangers.

All great thing must come to an end. The question is will it end how you expect or hope. Amy Plum did a fantastic job with the end of her series. If I Should Die is all kinds of great. Amy balanced the story very well when it came to death and love. I knew that not everyone could survive and live happy ever after, that would make the story boring. This book will keep you on your toes and your heart pounding from the get go. You jump right in where Until I Die left us with our hearts broken and saying "NO, that didn't just happen".

Before we get into the story, I just want to talk about how much I love this book as well as the other two before it in the series. Amy took supernatural beings such as Zombies, that we associate as grotesque or creepy and remade them into something appealing and swoon worthy. Then Amy pick one of the most romantic cities in the world and brought it to life within these pages. The way Amy describes or paints Paris, really creates a picturesque setting. Then you have the moments where French is spoken, you can never go wrong with the language of love.

The time for the battle against good and evil has arrived and at the forefront are Kate and Vincent. Kate is devastated and has the Numa looking for her, she isn't safe anymore. Vincent is gone or is he not? Being captured by the Numa, is no walk in the park. There is a scene in the beginning that will squeeze the life out of your heart. You can't imagine continuing to read the book from that moment on. Well don't stop, I promise it will get better, not easier but better. Kate will have to put on her big girl pants and take charge. The Revenants will all come together in this epic battle that is doomed to bring casualties on both sides.

An Epic revelation will occur that I personally did not see coming. So be prepared to be left with your jaw left hanging. Amy really put all her cards on the table when it came to this thrilling conclusion in the series. I am left in a good place but sad to have to say good bye to these characters I have a special place in my heart for.

If I Should Die is the third and last book in the series and my personal opinion is you should read the first 2 books before reading If I Should Die, so you can truly grasps everything that happens in the series. You will fall in love with the Revenants just like I did. - Yara

5.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas A brillant conclusion to a stunning trilogy that I couldn't put down 7 de mayo de 2013

I'll admit, from start to finish, Amy has had me mesmerized with this incredible world of revenants. I was truly captured in Die For Me, gripping the pages in Until I Die, and going through an emotional roller coaster in If I Should Die. That is how a good series should make you feel. The main focus with this book is finding a way to save Vincent. There isn't much of the bad guys coming into play until closer to the end, but that doesn't mean Amy doesn't give you a good dose of drama, action, and intrigue along the way. I also liked that Amy gives us closure on some of the secondary characters as well as tying up the main plot. I think fans will be happy with how she gives each character their time to shine and also leaves things open for fan interpretation.

Vincent and Kate really have to be one of my favorite couples. Their love is just so sweet and innocent, yet intense and sizzling. The best part was that even though they're truly a great couple, they also stand out on their own. Kate is a force to be reckoned with, that's for sure. She's strong, determined, and compassionate. She definitely surprises you, as well as the other characters, as the book progresses. I kind of figured some things out, but it was great watching it all unravel. Vincent is just plain swoon-worthy. Oh, that beginning literally killed me, just like the end of Until I Die. Their love and respect for each other is unrivaled. I couldn't get enough of them together. And, oh, Vincent's shoulder! *Awwwwwwww*

And Jules! Oh, Jules! How I just want to hug you! The downside is there is definitely not enough of Jules in this book. You understand why as you read it, but that doesn't mean I liked it. I have a major crush on that man! Don't fret though, because he's in all of the pivotal scenes and does play a key role when it counts, it's just, you'll see...

If I Should Die was every bit as good as its predecessors, if not better. There was a swoon-worthy romance, intense drama, an epic battle scene - truly the making of a stunning novel. I'm really sad to see this series end, but it was definitely a great ending. This series is definitely one of favorites on my shelves. I loved every minute of all three books and this is a series you don't want to miss out on, trust me. I'm so excited to read Jules' novella and get back into this world, if only for a little bit. Can't wait!

Book: The book opens with Vincent seemingly gone and Kate determined to put aside her grief and find a way to get Vincent back. Violette is deliciously evil now and several other characters evolve nicely in this book. Gradually, inch by inch, Kate and Vincent re-unite and then face a big, winner take all show down with Violette. In the meantime, Kate discovers her true destiny and becomes what she was meant to be. This is a generally satisfying conclusion to the trilogy. The author did a good job of not making the ending too predictable. Jean-Baptiste, Ambrose, Jules, and Charlotte all acquire a lot more depth and nuance in this book, making these characters a pleasure to read. Georgia, on the other hand, didn't do much for me in this book, which was mildly disappointing, since I liked her character a lot in prior books. The champion theme runs throughout this book, but I thought a bit more world building with this concept would have made it more compelling than it was. Also, some loose ends didn't get wrapped up at the end, but they were mostly minor ones.

Trilogy: I was lukewarm on book 1, which was almost entirely a predictable romance story, with the paranormal elements largely in the background as a stage prop. But book 2, with the romance firmly established, turns its focus on the paranormal aspects and I thought it was a step up from book 1. Book 3, IMO, was the best of the series, with a well thought out plot and a good mix of action and romance. This series will appeal to people who like paranormal and angel type stories, but want a decent serving of romance along with the action.

I really liked the story line and the characters, except for some of the language and moral situations. I wouldn't recommend this to younger readers.

I can’t believe I put off reading this one for so long, especially after the ending in Until I Die. This was such a great conclusion and I am so glad I finally got around to reading it. I love Kate and Vincent and I am so glad I was able to experience their story. I also want to take this second to pride myself on completely guessing where the story was going. Yay me.

Kate has definitely grown over the course of the series and I love that. She has gotten very strong and determined. She knows what she wants from her life and she is willing to do whatever she needs to get it. She is afraid, but she doesn’t let that stop her and I love that.

Then there is Vincent and guys, I figgin love him. He is like the ultimate book boyfriend with all his perfectness and I love it. It is nice to read about guys like that sometimes. He has this perfect balance of faith in Kate, but he still wants to protect her. It’s kinda cute. It’s so funny to watch him get frustrated with Kate putting herself in danger, but still knowing she has to do it. He doesn’t hold her back, but still doesn’t want her hurt.

I just love the relationship between Kate and Vincent because it is so strong. They always have faith in each other and fight for one another. There is no crazy melodrama and doubt for no reason. Also; no love triangle. I’m not opposed to love triangles, but I really just liked that the series was about these two fighting for each other and finding a way to make a life together work.

I also want to mention the secondary characters because there are so many great ones. There is Jules who I just absolutely love and my heart breaks for him. Ambrose who is just so awesome I don’t even have words. He cracks me up! Then there is Charlotte who is another one I love. I love that this series has such a strong secondary cast that you can get behind and fall in love with.

I love the paranormal aspect to this one because it’s pretty different. They are zombie like, but they aren’t really typical zombies. The revenants are just such a unique concept, especially in how they become immortal. This difference is really one of the main things that made me love this series to begin with.

If I Should Die was everything I was hoping for in this conclusion and I couldn’t have asked for more. This series has been so much fun and I was easily swept up in the romance and drama and the city of Paris. Paranormal romance fans, you need to read this one.
