Descripción del producto

If I Should Die delivers a stunning, deeply satisfying conclusion to the international bestselling Die for Me trilogy by Amy Plum.

Kate is devastated. Her boyfriend Vincent is a revenant who waited lifetimes to find her. But once he did their future together was shattered almost immediately. They were betrayed by their trusted ally, Violette. She killed Vincent and destroyed his body so that he could not be reanimated.

Now Vincent is doomed to roam the earth as a spirit. But Kate isn’t willing to accept life without her true love. She’ll risk anything to save him, even as Violette, their friend-turned-enemy, begins to wage a war to rule over France’s Immortals.

Amy Plum created an intricate, original mythology for her YA paranormal series. The books, set in Paris, the City of Lights, introduce readers to revenants, undead beings who must sacrifice themselves again and again to save the lives of strangers.

Contraportada

I will not lose another person I love. I will not let history repeat itself.

Vincent waited lifetimes to find me, but in an instant our future together has been shattered. He was betrayed by someone we both called a friend and I lost him.

It shouldn't be possible, none of it should be, but this is my reality. I know Vincent is somewhere out there, I know he's not completely gone, and I will do anything to save him.

After what we've already fought to achieve, a life without Vincent is unimaginable. He once swore to avoid dying - to go against his nature and forsake sacrificing himself for others - so that we could be together. How can I not risk everything to bring my love back to me?

All great thing must come to an end. The question is will it end how you expect or hope. Amy Plum did a fantastic job with the end of her series. If I Should Die is all kinds of great. Amy balanced the story very well when it came to death and love. I knew that not everyone could survive and live happy ever after, that would make the story boring. This book will keep you on your toes and your heart pounding from the get go. You jump right in where Until I Die left us with our hearts broken and saying "NO, that didn't just happen".

Before we get into the story, I just want to talk about how much I love this book as well as the other two before it in the series. Amy took supernatural beings such as Zombies, that we associate as grotesque or creepy and remade them into something appealing and swoon worthy. Then Amy pick one of the most romantic cities in the world and brought it to life within these pages. The way Amy describes or paints Paris, really creates a picturesque setting. Then you have the moments where French is spoken, you can never go wrong with the language of love.

The time for the battle against good and evil has arrived and at the forefront are Kate and Vincent. Kate is devastated and has the Numa looking for her, she isn't safe anymore. Vincent is gone or is he not? Being captured by the Numa, is no walk in the park. There is a scene in the beginning that will squeeze the life out of your heart. You can't imagine continuing to read the book from that moment on. Well don't stop, I promise it will get better, not easier but better. Kate will have to put on her big girl pants and take charge. The Revenants will all come together in this epic battle that is doomed to bring casualties on both sides.

An Epic revelation will occur that I personally did not see coming. So be prepared to be left with your jaw left hanging. Amy really put all her cards on the table when it came to this thrilling conclusion in the series. I am left in a good place but sad to have to say good bye to these characters I have a special place in my heart for.

If I Should Die is the third and last book in the series and my personal opinion is you should read the first 2 books before reading If I Should Die, so you can truly grasps everything that happens in the series. You will fall in love with the Revenants just like I did. - Yara

I'll admit, from start to finish, Amy has had me mesmerized with this incredible world of revenants. I was truly captured in Die For Me, gripping the pages in Until I Die, and going through an emotional roller coaster in If I Should Die. That is how a good series should make you feel. The main focus with this book is finding a way to save Vincent. There isn't much of the bad guys coming into play until closer to the end, but that doesn't mean Amy doesn't give you a good dose of drama, action, and intrigue along the way. I also liked that Amy gives us closure on some of the secondary characters as well as tying up the main plot. I think fans will be happy with how she gives each character their time to shine and also leaves things open for fan interpretation.

Vincent and Kate really have to be one of my favorite couples. Their love is just so sweet and innocent, yet intense and sizzling. The best part was that even though they're truly a great couple, they also stand out on their own. Kate is a force to be reckoned with, that's for sure. She's strong, determined, and compassionate. She definitely surprises you, as well as the other characters, as the book progresses. I kind of figured some things out, but it was great watching it all unravel. Vincent is just plain swoon-worthy. Oh, that beginning literally killed me, just like the end of Until I Die. Their love and respect for each other is unrivaled. I couldn't get enough of them together. And, oh, Vincent's shoulder! *Awwwwwwww*

And Jules! Oh, Jules! How I just want to hug you! The downside is there is definitely not enough of Jules in this book. You understand why as you read it, but that doesn't mean I liked it. I have a major crush on that man! Don't fret though, because he's in all of the pivotal scenes and does play a key role when it counts, it's just, you'll see...

If I Should Die was every bit as good as its predecessors, if not better. There was a swoon-worthy romance, intense drama, an epic battle scene - truly the making of a stunning novel. I'm really sad to see this series end, but it was definitely a great ending. This series is definitely one of favorites on my shelves. I loved every minute of all three books and this is a series you don't want to miss out on, trust me. I'm so excited to read Jules' novella and get back into this world, if only for a little bit. Can't wait!

Book: The book opens with Vincent seemingly gone and Kate determined to put aside her grief and find a way to get Vincent back. Violette is deliciously evil now and several other characters evolve nicely in this book. Gradually, inch by inch, Kate and Vincent re-unite and then face a big, winner take all show down with Violette. In the meantime, Kate discovers her true destiny and becomes what she was meant to be. This is a generally satisfying conclusion to the trilogy. The author did a good job of not making the ending too predictable. Jean-Baptiste, Ambrose, Jules, and Charlotte all acquire a lot more depth and nuance in this book, making these characters a pleasure to read. Georgia, on the other hand, didn't do much for me in this book, which was mildly disappointing, since I liked her character a lot in prior books. The champion theme runs throughout this book, but I thought a bit more world building with this concept would have made it more compelling than it was. Also, some loose ends didn't get wrapped up at the end, but they were mostly minor ones.

Trilogy: I was lukewarm on book 1, which was almost entirely a predictable romance story, with the paranormal elements largely in the background as a stage prop. But book 2, with the romance firmly established, turns its focus on the paranormal aspects and I thought it was a step up from book 1. Book 3, IMO, was the best of the series, with a well thought out plot and a good mix of action and romance. This series will appeal to people who like paranormal and angel type stories, but want a decent serving of romance along with the action.

OMG OMG OMG OMG!!! This book is ABSOLUTE PERFECTION in every single possible way!

Okay when book one, Die For Me was released, I saw it everywhere. I told myself I would read it when I could. However, being on book sites I found many readers raving about it and I decided to finally read it. With that, I have been hooked lined and sinker for this series.

I love French, which attracted the book to me even more. It is written so beautifully that this series is a true work of art.

So last book we left off with Vincent being thrown from a window, pretty much dead. With Violette stealing his body. Now Kate is alone thinking about all that has happened, when suddenly Vincent shows up. Excite that Vincent is violant and talking to her, Kate has some hope. Though Vincent is quick to tell her Violette's plan to get rid of his body and bind him to her. They continue to talk until his voice is gone...Quickly after, Kate runs to la maison. There she explained what happened. Once things are discussed, Kate goes home. There she and her sister explain everything to Mamie. First it was hard, but soon she came around to believing. Especially the next day when the girls went poof and she was at the house talking to the undead! Again there is talking about everything. What they are, how they only want to protect the girls and ensure everything is under control. Now knowing Kate she can't stay home, so she will be at la masion once again trying her best to help Vincent. Even though they can't be together, Kate will do her best to remove Vincent from Violette and any control she may have on him. Some chapters in we get some big news! The champion may not be who we have though it to be. Plus there may just be a way to get Vincent back! I mean the real flesh and bone Vincent, whooot! I won't say more, cause I will really give to much away. (If I haven't already! oops) Once Kate's family comes to terms with everything, they try their best to help. After hours of looking Kate may have found something. She and Papy head over to la maison and reveal the news. After one call they got new hope, and head off to New York. Being back there is hard for Kate, though she must put that aside now to look for answers. Soon they achieve all the answers needed in an attempt to bring Vincent back. Does it work? Well read the book and you will know (: Now before heading back to Paris they receive news of a war brewing in Paris. The numa have started to head for Paris, Vilolette is no longer waiting. Another twist is one of the revenant won't go back to Paris with them! Once back someone will reveal some news, which will lead others to leave and some to come. They must all prepare to fight in the largest battle yet to come. Before much is done, Mamie is kidnapped by Violette. Kate and the other revenants must hurry there. Once they arrive at the hotel a new fight happens with Violette. A new person dies, Mamie is safe, and best of all a new revenant is made and the champion revealed. This new revenant is someone who many didn't know would turn out a revenant, let alone the champion. Some of you may figure it out as the book goes on, and some will be shocked. Now how can I go on without revealing all the juicy details! I'm dying to tell you all how perfect it is, though it's tough without revealing a lot. Okay so this book has one of the best endings ever! The cutes and sweetest ending, after a long and hard battle. The revenants are victorious, though not without the loss of our favorite people. We leave this book with new hope, new leaders, new missions, and a much much greater love for these characters. I hate to see this series end, it really is one of the best I have ever read. I give this book beyond 5 stars.

I have put off reading this book because I did not want it to end. I am a bit saddened that there is not more Vincent and Jules, but what a great way to end this series!

Lots of things are going on in If I Should Die. There is A LOT of back story for revenants and numa. We also meet a few other characters (or at least I think they are new because I forgot them in the other books!). At any rate, they have a more prominent role in this book than they did before.

But what really got me this time around was Kate and her sister, Georgia. They have both undergone some serious character growth. In the other books, Kate comes across as whiny and weak. Not this time! She is a total kick butt heroine now. Her destiny is a bit obvious, but that's ok. I enjoyed it. Then there is Georgia. The self-centered hussy is gone. She's reserved and concerned about people other than herself. She was a great supporting character for Kate.

What did bother me, however, is the lack of Jules. I love Vincent and Ambrose, don't get me wrong. But there has always been something about Jules. He's so broken and distraught about his feelings for Kate. I was really hoping he could find his happy ending, but instead he vanished. Poof. I was pretty upset by that. I think Jules needs his own series or at least a companion novel.

If you have read the other novels, you will more of the things you have come to expect from Amy Plum. The descriptions are remarkable. You will feel as if you are walking the streets of Paris along with Kate and her band of revenants. Also, the way she can pen emotions will make your heart race and give you goosebumps. It's pretty fantastic. If you are like me and have been putting off this series, go ahead and pick up If I Should Die. It won't disappoint you. And if you have not read this series, what are you waiting for?
