Wow....what a wonderful, unusual and fascinating read! I don't think I've read anything quite like this before.....loved it! The story is told in an entertaining and mysterious way.....during our lifetime we meet interesting people and years later we ask: "I wonder what happened to them?" Izzy is one of those interesting people. A lifetime filled with all the emotions and experiences that make her who she is.

This is a fast read but still includes a complete lifetime of memories. Autobiographies are something I don't ordinarily read because I find them long and boring.....this is nothing of the such! Many interesting and entertaining personal stories are lost to eternity but Izzy had the talent and desire to share hers with the reader in an honest and entertaining way....bravo.......standing ovation!

Even if you're not a fan of poetry, you're going to love this little gem of a book. It offers such heartfelt emotion about the author's life with her triumphs and foibles. The book will make you smile a little, cry a bit, and think about your own life a lot. From a shaky childhood through her dedication to human rights and on to a brilliant career as a vocalist performing with artists whose names you'll recognize, to a late introduction to motherhood and her approaching senior years, Izzy shares the wisdom she has garnered. This book would make a wonderful gift for any adult. Five plus stars to you Izzy Hunter!

Follows the life of Isolde Hunter from birth and childhood in New York City in 30's and 40's to a singing career, which took her around the world, leading to interactions with Harry Belafonte and Frank Sinatra, to her 70's in Florida. At times light, at times heavy, but always honest; you won't want to put it down.

Her depth of feeling is spot on! She has captured the joys and tribulations of her life in the music business honestly and beautifully. I was privileged to work with her briefly in the early 1970s and am astounded by the depth of her recall. Did you keep a journal, Isolde? I only wish that we'd worked together longer. Her writing is as much a joy as her singing. Thank you so much, Isolde, and keep on swinging!
