Hubo un tiempo en que esta caja estuvo a poco más de 12 euros al cambio en el Amazon inglés. Ni que decir tiene que aquella tirada voló, y ya no volvió a ser tan "chollo". Sin embargo, su precio actual merece el esfuerzo todavía. 10 discos gloriosos que reeditan aquella edición de lujo que sacó Sony hace unos años, en un formato algo más asequible (cardboards sencillitos y un amplio libreto), pero igual de apetecible.
Se ordenan cronológicamente dejando las tomas alternativas para los dos últimos CD's, lo cual, en mi opinión, es de agradecer, puesto que uno de los mayores problemas que tienen las reediciones de material antiguo es la manía de poner las tomas falsas a continuación de las buenas, de manera que uno acaba saturado de cada tema.
En cuanto a la música: esto es Billie en su mejor momento. Una amplia selección que pasa por todas sus épocas sin llegar al momento de la decrepitud final en Verve / Clef. Algo más de una década, desde 1933 a 1944, con Lady Day en la cumbre y todo ello remasterizado con el mejor sonido que se puede obtener de las fuentes originales. Si te haces con esta caja y el momento culminante de su caída a los infiernos (el honesto y devastador "Lady Sings The Blues"), tendrás el legado de una de las mejores vocalistas y que más dio qué hablar del mundo del Jazz. La CHARLIE PARKER del micrófono.
