Excellent Book 29 de julio de 2013

I learned to meditate quickly and deeply. This book helped me to get started and to continue meditating. All I had to do is read, then practice the steps. I would review the steps again, the next time I meditated.
I enjoyed this book and found it very, very helpful.
I recommend this book to everyone who wants more information about meditation, those who want to learn and practice meditation, and those who may have tried meditation but are not really practicing it - or need a "brush up" on how to meditate.
I am grateful I found this book. It really, really helped me to get me started - and to keep me meditating.

Wow... Helpfull and educating 1 de noviembre de 2012

For others like me, balancing being a single Mom, working full time at my job, recently starting a home based business, cooking, cleaning, laundry and the list goes on, this book really helped me realize that by taking a small window of time for me and sitting, just sitting for a short period every day has helped to decrease my stress, and increase my quality of life!

I have heard about meditation before and always had these ideas that it would take a long time, that I had to do certain things a certain way to 'meditate.' After reading this book, it was very clear that I had it all wrong! Now that I have read this book, I bought another copy for my Mom! This book is a MUST READ if you are interested in learning and applying quick and effective ways to "rest' your mind and focus on YOU!!!

Thanks Sharla for your dedication to educate myself and others about meditation!

One Happy Reader!

Well, this is a first for me, writing a review on something. Please bare in mind that English
is not my first language and that my literary skills are akin to those of a gorilla, so I beg your
compassion.(sorry Shakespeare, sorry Cervantes, I'm very, very sorry)

During my quest for self-knowledge I've read many wonderful books on mysticism, meditation and
spirituality of both the eastern and western traditions, from authors like Vivekananda, Yogananda,
Madam Blavatsky, Carl Jung, H. Spencer Lewis, Nicholas Roerich, St Teresa of Avila and
Louis Claude de Saint-Martin, among many others.

Now, if you are entertaining the idea of beginning the practice of meditation, but feel somewhat unsure,
here are some reasons why I think you'll love this book as much as I do.

1. it focuses on practice rather than theory
I feel a lot of veneration, admiration and gratitude towards the Masters of all ages, but for me
there is no higher authority than experience. If for some reason or Divine Grace I were to become
enlightened right this moment, how would I be able to convey that experience to you? It would be
like an eskimo trying to explain to me how a whale mac or a whale whopper tastes like. Even if he
succeeds in the attempt, I would never know how a whale tastes to him, unless by some kind of higher
faculty or consciousness the barrier between him and I, subject and object, became dissolved.
At this instant you would be right in asking me, but Jose why then take this review into consideration?
That's exactly my point, you have to experience meditation for yourself. This book will help you do it.

2. Maybe I'll never know what you feel during the meditative state and vice versa. Nonetheless, I believe
in the power of sharing. In the act of sharing our pain, our scars, our vulnerability, we can help
each other into achieving a better version of ourselves. This is what Sharla does in this book, she gives
you the gift of herself, which brings me to:

3. She's here! She's among us! You can e-mail her if you have any doubts.
She is a fountain of love and experience.

I hope this will help you on your journey.
