I bought this book without being quite convinced about it, not having liked "Started for ten" from the same author much, but this one hooked me from the first pages.
This book tells the story of Emma and Dexter throughout 20 years, told one day a year from university into their adulthood. Made me laugh out loud a couple of times and most importantly kept me entertained (except the last 40 pages or so, won't tell why since it would be a huge spoiler). I'm not British but the descriptions of life in England through the eighties and nineties were quite vivid and interesting.
To summarise, a good lighthearted book that I would no doubt recommend. I'm looking forward to reading more books from David Nicholls now.
