The Harry Potter Golden Snitch Kit (Miniature Editions Kit) [Varios suministros]

I find it a little dissapointing.
You will find no book here. Only 8 stickers. The four seals of the Four Houses of Hogwarts, the Hogwarts seal, and 3 portraits of Harry, Draco Malfoy and Cedric Diggory (not drawings, the actors). Then, there's the Golden Snitch. The stand where you can put it on is made of solid wood, but the actual ball is (bad) painted plastic, and the wings are also plastic.
I don't recommend this object for small children. They can hurt themselves with the wings (they are very pointy).
I like to collect gadgets from movies, and in the end, this turns out OK put on a shelf, besides the books. But there are better gadgets for Harry Potter fans out there.

I purchased this item for my brother & sister-in-law, who are HUGE Harry Potter fans and into the whole collectibles scene. They already have a decent collection of Harry Potter merchandise, and were pleasantly surprised to acquire this. It is definitely not a toy, nor would I consider it for small children, as indicated by the 9+ age advisory. For what it is (a cheap, fairly accurate movie prop), it's a great product. It is much better than similar products, of which there are many in and above it's price range. I researched the product before buying and aside from an actual Snitch, built to movie specs and licensed by Warner Bros (which does not exist at the time of this review), I would definitely pick this one.

The Harry Potter Golden Snitch Sticker Kit is a fantastic little mini kit, like those commonly found at bookstores and such. The sticker book included is not especially noteworthy. It feature eight stickers, depicting the Hogwarts seal and house crests, as well as pictures of Harry Potter, Cedric Diggory, and Draco Malfoy. They stickers aren't bad, but the Snitch itself if the real reason to buy the kit.

The Golden Snitch replica is extremely detailed, but not entirely accurate. The ball is of the right size, and the golden paint wash looks very nice. However, when compared to the image of the movie version on the box, it becomes clear that the details themselves are wrong. Nearly every groove and mark appear to be present, but nearly all also appear to be differently shaped than those in the film. Despite this, the likeness is by far the best of the various Snitch replicas on the market. The wings are made using a thin silvery-looking plastic. They're not entirely accurate to the film depiction, but they serve their purpose and easily snap in and out of the holes on the main ball.

The kit also includes a nice looking wooden stand for displaying the Snitch. Another nice touch is that the Snitch itself is weighted on the bottom, so it will sit up properly without the stand, and won't tip over even with the wings attached. It looks quite nice on the stand, though, so there's no reason not to display it that way.

Overall, the Golden Snitch Sticker Kit is a good value for Harry Potter fans. The sticker book is fairly uninteresting, but the Snitch is easily the best replica available today. It's not without it's flaws, but it's still an excellent display piece for Harry Potter fans.
