I needed a bass trombone gig bag quickly. I found this one on Amazon. I was amazed that Amazon carried this product and that it was a Prime item. I received it the next day. It has nice, thick padding with soft lining, an extra pocket and a well protected pocket for the slide, plus feet on the bottom to make it stay upright when loading/unloading the instrument to and from the bag. As gig bags go, I was surprised at the quality and workmanship. ProTec seems to have increased their quality considerably since I last saw a ProTec bag. This is a good buy. Do be aware that the backpack straps are sold extra as an "accessory". It does come with a basic shoulder strap.

Great bag but not for kids 30 de enero de 2014

I am also very satisfied with this bag. Ballistic nylon is very durable, zippers are heavy grade and the rigid reinforcing for the bell and slide does not compromise the light weight or comfort. Plenty of plush padding inside easily accommodates my double-trigger, 13-inch bell instrument. Parents, this is not a bag I would buy for my high-school trombone player who may have to put it in an equipment truck. It is more than adequate for a conscientious adult who does not treat this case like a piece of luggage because the instrument is not adequately protected from abuse. I feel I could drop the bag from my shoulder without worry, but definitely not have anything piled on top or crushed. The bag includes one loose mouthpiece pouch that is also sold separately, so there's no need to purchase one unless you have another mouthpiece. Additional storage pouch on the side opposite the slide pouch runs the length of the bag and easily accommodates an instrument stand, plunger and straight mute but not a cup mute. There is no padding in the storage pouch. Smaller zipper pouch inside the storage pouch is big enough for two mouthpieces and small accessories.

Excellent all-around gig bag 29 de enero de 2015

Comfortably fits my 10in-bell Getzen. The bag is very lightweight, and excellent for carrying extended distances. The shoulderstrap is fine- I have broad enough shoulders that I can wear this case slung across one shoulder, rifle-style, as opposed to slung across my chest. I can imagine this would be difficult or perhaps uncomfortable for smaller people. I would not wear this strap while bicycling- I plan to buy the backpack straps in the future.
The side pouch fits my horn stand, plunger, a cheap straight mute, lube, polishing equipment, barrel-rod, and small accessories. I would not put mouthpieces in this pouch unless they were in protective casings, as I wear the case bell-up and set it on the ground bell-down. I have a proper satchel for my other mutes.
The outside walls of the case are rugged and durable- standard issue for Protec cases these days. The inside is a nice, soft material that is very easy to slide the horn into. I wouldn't put this case on an airplane (maybe in the overheads, but definitely not below deck), but my hard case is amply suitable for getting kicked around.

Fit my Holton With a 13 inch bell. Fells good. Not cheep. Wish I bought it sooner.

Great case 13 de enero de 2013

Just got the case today, and it's great. I have a Getzen Custom, so like the other customer who has the Edwards horn, I was also slightly worried that it would not be quite big enough, but like he said, it fits well, and I couldn't be happier. It's perfect for carrying around campus and much lighter than my hard case that the horn came in. Using the heavy hard case was putting a lot of strain on my shoulders because I walk with my horn frequently, and I needed something that would be more ergonomic and less of a hassle to carry. This bag does the job. I carried it around quite a bit today already for a gig that I had tonight. Everything on the case seems well constructed and strong.

Overall, a great option for those looking for something light and durable. No complaints!
