Reseña del editor

How do you keep existing when your heart is so splintered, so completely torn to shreds, your pulse is fading? You’re…broken. How do you move forward when every breath is nothing more than a constant ache? Living becomes an insidious reminder that you threw away the single largest part of yourself. Your…soul. No amount of distraction can pull you from the torture of losing your…life. Now that Emily Cooper has walked away from her first love, she finds herself running toward her only love. Unraveling fast, but clinging to hope, Emily risks all she has left on the man that has consumed her every thought and dream since the day they met. Will Gavin take her back? And if so, will their reunion be a collision of two hearts destined to complete one another and rekindle a love that knew no boundaries? Or will scars from their past rip open, tearing slowly at what each of them was meant to be? Can fate, the ultimate game changer, mend the shattered road it laid out from the start? Only time will tell… Tick-Tock…

Biografía del autor

I've always been a lover of writing, but mostly dabbled in creating poetry while raising my three beautiful children. I am grateful my husband of fifteen years has supported me—albeit sometimes kicking and screaming—as I pursue this "hobby" of mine. Without his help, writing would be an impossible endeavor. In late June 2012, I felt an urgent tug of my pen, and I began writing one of my first novels, Collide. Although I thought it might never see the light of day, it gave me the courage to plunge headfirst onto a path I had never considered before.

"A romance that is food for the soul and a love story that is simply unforgettable." - Angie's Dreamy Reads

Have you ever read a book or series that has seeped so heavily into your veins, your body, your mind that you think of nothing else? A book that has filled every void, every fiber within your heart and soul. A book you could read again and again and again. There are some books that you could never get sick of. Some that the characters come alive and embed themselves into every pore of your being. Collide and Pulse is that series for me. It's a series that I breathe, think and dream about. To be Emily Cooper and to be loved by a man like Gavin Blake. To be loved in such a way that you are cherished, savored and consumed. To own another human being the way Gavin and Emily own each other. To live the experience she had. I want that. I need that. This book has created that in me. The need to live through every line, every word, every paragraph. The author writes so beautifully, so eloquently that every page is a beautiful experience and a journey that's simply unforgettable. I have a lot of favorite books. Books that I have absolutely loved but this series is my favorite. It's a series that I care deeply about. The characters have come alive in me and are my friends that I love and cherish. Pulse is an emotional journey. One that puts you through the ringer. One that will make you laugh, cry and swoon. It'll crush your heart, your spirit, give you intense heart palpitations and then put you back together. It's what I call a "book experience!" You're not simply reading the story, you're living the story. Each and every part. It's a romance that's unforgettable. It's breathtaking and heart stopping. What I consider to be a MUST, MANDATORY AND REQUIRED READ!

"Pulse" is a heart-wrenching, soul searching novel of love, loss and finding each other again that will leave you feeling as if you taken a whirlwind trip. Using vivid imagery, endearing characters and a forever kind of love that will leave you breathless, "Pulse" is a must read for all the readers out there looking for a romance novel that is a little bit more than just flowery words and big sweeping scenes.

In the book, Emily has made the choice to leave the man who was a safe bet and give the man who could be her forever a go. But there is a lot of history and a lot of issues that they need to work out if things are ever going to work out for them. Emily and Gavin make the journey with a cautious optimism that endears the reader to their sweet, yet sensual romance. The sparks between the two could start a fire, but it's the slow burning pulse that will keep their love alive through the years... that is if they can figure out how to get through the trying times and hold on to each other. After reading this book I found myself smiling and sighing in an all too familiar way, the sure sign that I'd truly enjoyed the book and lived vicariously through them just for a little while. As far as sequels go, I thought it was excellent. Good work Gail, I look forward to your next book!

"Our past is imperfect, but our future's breathtaking."

I'll start at the beginning....I read Collide and was irate with Emily Cooper's actions at the end of the book. I mean really? What the hell? Emily was on my most hated idiot female heroine list right under Keirra from Thoughtless. I can now shout it from the roof tops that with 100% certainty Gail McHugh completely redeemed Emily and that this read was absolutely FANTASTIC!! Authors should take notes from Gail because this is how you write a sequel!!!!!

This book is so well done and well written that there is NOTHING I would change. Gail McHugh is one hell of an author and this book is a full 5 stars or more because the story deserves it. The characters evolved and grew although you may suffer heart palpitations, I wouldn't have had it any other way.

Pulse starts off right where Collide left off. Emily walks out of Dillon's apartment and decides follow her heart...Gavin. Sadly, Emily's day late and dollar short. After spilling his feelings all over the engagement party Gavin heads out of town and off the grid to lick his wounds figuring that the wedding is still on. Right from the get go...Emily isn't overly crying or indecisive she goes for what she wants and puts her heart on the line.

"Please forgive me for fighting against us in the beginning, Gavin. Please forgive me for not fighting for us when I knew we were supposed to be together. Forgive me for not fighting for us when I knew we were supposed to be together."

I'm not going to spoil any part of this story so let's say Emily doesn't disappoint she becomes the heroine a reader can relate to and love.

Gavin was swoon worthy, heart breaking and completely kick ass. He has a realness that is so endearing that I think he must be somewhere in Manhattan and this reader just has to keep up the search for him.

"I'm going to break you Emily Cooper. I'm going to break you down, and slowly build you back up. Second by second, piece by piece, and memory by memory, I'm going to make you realize you're worth what I'm going to give you."

Dillon is Dillon and all the supporting characters were well done as well. Go forth and click purchase because this is one sequel that doesn't fall short but surpasses its predecessor.

"We were written for one another, and I wouldn't change one line in our romance novel. The good, the bad, the in between. It's ours. We own it."

Back in January I took a chance on collide and I'm so glad I did. Like many readers, I waited for this book for 6 months and it didn't disappoint. I know gail was worried if her readers liked pulse but I truly think she.has out done herself. My emotions were all over the place. I laughed, smiled and even felt saying f#!! That didn't just happen. She rips your heart out and literally had me crying. I'm emotional as it is but man was it emotional. Emily is.simply amazing and finds.her true voice. I will miss these characters but I know gail.Will.write something exquisite again. I can truly understand why gail was in tears at the end because as I'm writing this at 2:14 am I Still have tears in my eyes. Thank.you gail for an amazing 2 books that I will hold dear to my heart for awhile. For those in domestic violence.relationships, it is never to late to leave.and start new.

I was really looking forward to this after enjoying the first book. Sorry to say I did not enjoy this book it was so repetitive too much of them telling how much they love each other or thinking about how much they love the other. The way they described their love was way over the top to the point where I just rolled my eyes and skipped ahead 5 pages or so to avoid it. Didn't enjoy the other characters either her friends were really witchy
