Real Dreams: Thirty Years of Short Stories is a collection of 15 short stories written between 1981 and 2011. The stories are from multiple genres with some common themes, including hope, dreams, light, darkness, perseverance, and spirituality, wrapped up in some novel ideas. This is a book three decades in the making.

Michael Gene (M. G.) Edwards is a writer of books and stories in the travel, mystery, thriller, science fiction and fantasy genres. He also writes children's literature. He graduated from the University of Washington with a master’s degree in China Studies and a Master of Business Administration. A former U.S. diplomat, he served in South Korea, Paraguay, and Zambia before retiring in 2011 to pursue investing and writing full time. Edwards is founder of Brilliance Equity LLC, an investment firm specializing in emerging markets. He lives in Bangkok, Thailand with his wife Jing and son Alex.
