Compilación muy económica de la música de cámara de Schumann

Grabado entre 1989 y 1996 tenemos una visión amplia (no completa) de la música de cámara de Schumann en 5 CDs de duraciones generosas en tomas de sonido en estudio y ‘en vivo’, generalmente de buenas a muy buenas. Zacharias es un artista que sabe fundirse con sus compañeros en el quinteto, los cuartetos reciben una interpretación mejorable, sobre todo por problemas de entonación y conjunto, cosa que no ocurre en el quinteto anterior. Los dos Trios reciben buenas interpretaciones, vitales y exuberantes. Previsiblemente, cuando interviene Argerich saltan las chispas y, como no lo hace en el cuarteto, esta interpretación es algo sedada, aunque perfectamente aceptable. Así que ocurre como con el helado, mitad fresa y mitad vainilla. Puede mejorar casi todas las interpretaciones si las adquiere por separado, pero resultaría mucho más caro: Cuarteto y Quinteto con piano: Marie Le Guay con el cuarteto Mandelring (audite-SACD híbrido); Trios y Fantasiestücke: Leiv Ove Andsnes con Christian y Tania Tetzlaff (EMI); Cuartetos de cuerda: Alberni Quartet (CRD); Stücke in Volkston: Rostropovich/Britten (Decca).
