Jerusalem AD76: an old man sets sail for Britain. Strapped to his back is a mysterious package, the contents of which include a codex and a black chalice. Generations later, a group of teenagers discover the chalice hidden beneath the foundations of an ancient monastery in Wales. Unwittingly they set in motion a train of events which culminate in an orgy of bloodshed.
Turning his back on a glittering career in the SAS, Jared Hunter returns home to discover the village of Raven’s Hill in the grip of an ancient evil. Enlisting the aid of Eric Thomas, a retired minister, they trace the origins of the chalice from the fall of Jerusalem to the hilltop fortress of Masada. The deeper they dig the more they become convinced that behind everything lies the spectre of the Knights Templar.
With the blood count rising, there appears to be only one way to stop the horror. The quest to discover and translate the final section of the codex rapidly becomes a struggle to keep one step ahead of a cadre of ancient assassins known as The Brotherhood.
