Descripción del producto

Descripción del producto

Lifelong introvert Quinn Malone was sick of spending her evenings at home, doing crossword puzzles and watching reality TV. Successful, smart, and funny, 38-year old Quinn embarks on a quest to find a man, using blind dates, speed, and internet dating to get things moving.
Quinn overcomes her shyness to suffer through dates that are so bad, they’re funny (see the chapter on hunchbacks). With the help of good friends, she successfully transitions through the seven stages of dating: excitement (I’ve still got it!); infatuation (he makes me feel beautiful); disappointment (he looks nothing like his online photo); anger (why is he online if he’s married?); fatigue (I can’t bear the thought of another date); depression (I’m going to grow old and die alone); and acceptance (dating: it is what it is). Through the triumphs and heartbreaks of dating, and of life in general, Quinn uncovers the resilient, dynamic person she’s always been. The question is, has Mr. Right been waiting in the wings all along?

The Truth About Dating is a full-length novel, approximately 120,000 words. If you find any errors in the May 2011 version of this ebook, contact the author via her blog and she will gift you a copy of her latest book.

I wasn't sure what to expect from this book since I had never heard of the author, and I've been fooled before into thinking some books were going to be good. However, I love reading dating stories and those that talk about dates gone bad so I decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did. I thought this book was wonderful. I completely identified with the main character and found myself rooting for her throughout the book. I started to notice that when I came home every day from work, I was looking forward to reading more of the story. It was definitely one of those 'curl up in front of the fire with hot chocolate' kind of books. I was sad to see it end, but also didn't walk away unfulfilled like many other books out there leave me.

I like getting to know characters, because even though they are just in a story, a well-thought out character can become my friend too as I read about them and go through their lives with them. I felt like this main character was one of the people I hang out with, and reading this story made me want to help her find a man but also at the same time made me glad that I'm not single.

I would highly recommend this book for people that like reading dating stories, and also for those that have forgotten how miserable the single life can sometimes be. You'll find yourself following the main character through her stories and comparing them to your own.

Where does one begin? There is nothing funny or introverted about the main character though those were two words used in her tagline for her online dating profile. She was right out there in your face with her very unfunny observations about men, politics and her friends. I am very much a liberal and her conservative-bashing offended me. Her gimmick of referring to the reader as "Reader" is somehing only Jane Austen can pull off. And if she spent so much time watching Carrie Bradshaw, she would know that the show is called "Sex AND The City", not "Sex IN The City"! She is clueless about men and then is puzzled as to why they don't like her. Her friends are morose or shallow or just plain stupid. And she goes on and on for pages about her conversations with her audiology clients. We get it. You know the field well. That doesn't mean WE want to know all about it. I skipped so many long passages when she was having these client conversations because I really was not interested. Oh, and stop using commas so incorrectly. If you paid for peoofreading, you were ripped off. On an upnote, Pacey was a great character. Perhaps he should have written the book. I'm thinking he would have written a much funnier story with legit reasons to whine. His mistress was clueless. I know this a really harsh review. The writer needs ongoing classes in her craft. The first tenet of good writing: show, don't tell. This book is a whole lot "tell"with very little to show for it.

Dang, I wish I'd read reviews before wasting my money on this.

I have to admit, I didn't even finish the book. In the first 5 chapters alone, I counted Jane Austen's name misspelled twice ("Austin", an apostrophe where one did not belong (i.e., 's to indicate plural), and the sentence "He voice was so soft..."

I stopped reading because of these annoying errors. Looking at other 1-star reviews, I see I didn't miss anything.

do not waste your time on a vision. If the guy you like acts selfish or thoughtless, he probably is. Dont ignore his actions. Forget about the man you want him to be, and look at the man he is. Then dump him. "e;
