5.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas Perfect Game 24 de agosto de 2012

A group of my friends got me hooked on games like Puerto Rico and Agricola. I decided to find a game to add to the rotation. I wanted to find a game that was different and this one caught my eye. I stumbled into a great choice.

This game is great on so many levels. It is nails the theme, length of play, auction mechanism, character variation, artwork, and just overall balance. Frequently, after playing a game a few times, there's one part of the game that seems unbalanced or a strategy that's unbeatable. That's certainly not the case with Carson City. After multiple plays, nothing like that has appeared.

If you like games that involve more strategy and thinking than luck, give it a shot, you will not be disappointed!

5.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas Roll up your sleeves, carry a gun, and lets build a city in the desert! 27 de mayo de 2012

In this game, you choose a role, an arny of cowboys and stake out territory in the Wild West. You attempt to buy as much land and construct as many buidlings as you can in four rounds. You have to be careful though; somebody else may want to build the same building or buy the same land parcel as you. When this happens, you fight a duel with dice and gun tokens. The winner gets that action and the loser doesn't. The buildings you build generate money and at some point, you need to turn that money into points which can be a real challenge at times. You also need ot be on the lookout because your opponents can rob your buildings (but you can do this to them, too!)

It may be confusing the first time through the rules. The rules arent long, but you will likely have a few questions the first time through. You can visit youtube and type in the name of this game or just type "Carson City board game tutorials" on google and you can find several places to help if you have questions. Once you get the hang of it, the game plays quickly and smoothly. The game is a lot of fun that requires you to plan your precious few actions very carefully. It also allows you to directly interfere with your opponents by challenging them to duels and stealiong their money! Highly recommended.

3.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas Thought it was more like Puerto Rico except in the west. 15 de enero de 2013

Not bad but not as enjoyable as Puerto Rico. Much better as a 3 or 4 player game, not very good as a 2 player game.
