5.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas Great Upgrade 6 de mayo de 2017

This is a great, cost effective upgrade to my three year old computer. I had previously upgraded the power supply and graphics card but found that my Athlon II CPU was not keeping up. I learned that the Phenom II is the only possible upgrade for the existing motherboard, so when I saw a used one on Amazon it was a no brainer. It's now running fast and smooth with no issues (at least none related to the CPU)..

I had an AMD Athlon X2 2.8GHz before getting this. That dual core worked very well for web browsing and simple programs, but after a year of using Sony Vegas and other intense programs, it was very apparent that it was slowing me down.

This CPU seemed like a perfect improvement for a solid price. And it sure was!

This CPU installed without much of any trouble. The only trouble I had was with the heatsink/fan that AMD gives you with this processor.

My old CPU used a heatsink that is screwed down into the motherboard, while this one uses straps to lock it down. So, at the moment I have my computer laying down so the fan doesn't fall off. I'll work on getting a solution soon though.

But this means that you might have a bit of trouble with the included heatsink. You might be asking at this point "Why not just use my old heatsink/fan?" Here's my answer, DON'T use your old heatsink! I actually tried this and my computer wouldn't boot up correctly. So I just went the safe route.

All in all, this CPU is amazing! It will speed up everything on your computer at a pretty affordable price. On top of that, it doesn't use a lot of power so you don't have to worry about your current PSU.

To finish this off, Windows 7 on my computer gave this CPU a 7.3 out of 7.9. That's just about perfect.

Works like a charm! Upgrading from a dual-core, this cpu provided much smoother frame-rates in the games I play. Provides excellent multitasking from what I've experienced and I would suggest it for anyone trying to get a good cpu at a good price. This isn't next-gen, but it gets the job done.

I had my son set up on an older nForce Abit board with a Phenom 9850 Quad-core (125watt). The CPU was always running hot and just never seemed to run right.
I ended up using this CPU with a nForce MSI NF750-G55. This CPU is only 95 watts so it runs cool and quiet. There is no L3 Cache, but at 3.2 Ghz, it doesn't seem to make a difference
compared to the older 9850 at 2.5 Ghz. The lack of L3 cache shows it is basically a faster Athlon X4, but they still call it a Phenom. Its been up for several weeks with zero problems.

i was cruzin around looking for a cheap upgrade to pep up an older system. found this on amazon for about a 100$. While it has no L3 Cache, it does come stock at 3.2ghz, which alone makes this a great deal. But alas AMD has always made processors that go beyond the limits of factory settings. So i got this in the mail, throwed it in an old xfx board(replacing another phenom x4 that has lasted 3 years, flawless performance)and was amazed by the performance increase. While its not black edition i had read at overclockers sites that it could still be boosted a little with the fsb settings, so i began upping the speed, and adding voltage. At 1.4v with 240ish fsb im getting 3.8798ghz stable @ 37c on a thermaltake blue orb air cooler. Under load it goes up to around 47c. With liquid cooling this processor would easily top 4ghz, maybe 4.5 with luck. At any rate a 3.9ghz on air cooling for about a 100 bucks is a great deal.
