Reseña del editor
For 400 years he was lost to her, but he is hers tonight... From their first tantalizing touch, Jasmine knows he is different. What other lover could unlock her tight control, flood Vampire senses jaded by a lifetime of decadent self-indulgence? Centuries ago, when he disappeared without a trace, she had given up hope of ever fulfilling the promise of incomparable passion. But here he is, against the very laws of nature, ready to bring down their most vicious enemy, ready to bring her blood to the boiling point...if she will only let him.Ver Descripción del producto

I won't give a full synopsis since so many others already have. Instead, I'll say that Ms. Frank's book Adam was really quite brilliant in arranging and following a timeline that jumps from past to present flawlessly. Adam's disappearance so long ago is explained, yet not brushed over and easily forgiven. Different reactions to his reappearance after so long are refreshingly real. That's the plus side of this book to me. And the only thing that I really could appreciate. I was too busy stewing to enjoy the storyline.
!!! SPOILER ALERT!!!!
My personal issue with this book... When I finish reading a romance, I am secure with the knowledge of a happily-ever-after for the couple that I invested my time in. I personally need that HEA; it's a prerequisite for any romance that I pick up. In my mind, and far past the end of the book, that couple is very much alive and well and living out their future together. So, when an author reintroduces that couple in a future book, and savages their lives in a very brutal way, that author has now shaken my faith in that couples HEA. To put it mildly, I was ticked. Yes, it may have all worked out in the end, but Ms. Frank still ripped off my rose-colored glasses. And while I usually like her stories, I know I'll hesitate on picking up a series book by her again. And that ticks me off, too.
Adam is book # 5 of the Nightwalkers Series by Jacquelyn Frank. This is the story of Jasmine and Adam. Adam was one of the most anticipated books of the Nightwalkers Series, Yes we loved and enjoyed Noah but it is Adam that has created a commotion throughout the web. As a Jacquelyn Frank's fan I am happy to say this is a hot, exciting, and kickass story. As every other story of the Nightwalkers series this story has tons action, it also has its share of evil, sex and love.
We got to know Jasmine in Noah's book. We learned about her hatred for Syreene, Damien's mate, but we also know her as a strong character filled with regrets and desires. What do we know about Adam? We know Adam disappeared 400 years ago and was never seen again. We also know he is Jacob's brother, the enforcer capable of maintaining order and the one person Jacob looked up to for guidance.
Though I loved Adam, I felt there was a lack of development in the story, Adam and Jasmine interaction is minimal compared to the other books in the series. I felt their story and interaction was rushed. The reading went fast, the action is non-stop, but the character development is lacking a bit. I am hoping there is a lot more to this series, the book left me with tons of questions and pretty much in a "HUH" kind of state.
Adam is sexy and the chemistry between him and Jasmine is great. They are strong, smart and downright kickass heroes in their own sexy and hot kind of way. Their combination is dangerous yet funny. Jacquelyn is still the same witty, talented and funny author that we all love.
I am already waiting for more...
In contrast, here even Time-element demon doesn't zip about willy nilly but fully understands the seriousness of what she's doing. As for the rest of the book, I like it. I'd been disappointed in Noah - for one I wanted him to have a Mistral or other Nightwalker romance instead of a human and for another the Ruth issue was left hanging. Adam brought a closure to this cycle and though there are still unknowns (Seth the "star child" and his powers sparked my curiosity) that's how I believe it should be.
Adam came out of nowhere. A thought to be new character, when in fact he's part of Jacob's past. Sweet!
I enjoyed the book of course. And I absolutely fell head over heels for Adam. Holy yummy alpha male. Ms Frank writes excellent male characters of all types, but her big, muscle bound alpha males are my favorite. Adam is such a freaking brute, and yet, he's a big softie on the inside.
The first part of this book had me so upset at the events that had occurred. The characters from all the past books were all in turmoil. It was heart wrenching. Then came Adam, and everything changed.
And let's not forget Jasmine. The forever alone, strong willed and powerful Vampire. She is sexy, sassy and an extreme bad ass. Perfect match for Adam.
I enjoyed their story. I enjoyed watching them fan the flames of their attraction and then try and douse them a moment later. Their witty banter was very entertaining.
Will there be another addition to the series? Let's hope so.
