Reseña del editor
Those creative professionals seeking the fastest, easiest, most comprehensive way to learn Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 choose Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 Classroom in a Book from the Adobe Creative Team at Adobe Press. The 19 project-based lessons in this book show readers step-by-step the key techniques for working in Premiere Pro CS6. Readers learn to take a project from beginning to end where they'll get the basics on things like organizing media, using audio, creating transitions, producing titles, and adding effects. Once they have the basics down, they'll learn how to take their projects further by sweetening and mixing sound, compositing the footage, adjusting color, using multicamera editing techniques, authoring DVDs, and much more. This completely revised CS6 edition covers new features, including the Warp Stabilizer effect for stabilizing uneven, shaky footage. Powerful new trimming techniques are explored in detail and an entire chapter covers the new expanded multicamera editing features. The new interface in Adobe Premiere Pro 6 offers many new capabilities to the editor who needs quick results and this book covers the workflows required to get the job done. Best of all, the companion DVD includes lesson files so readers can work step-by-step along with the book. "The Classroom in a Book series is by far the best training material on the market. The book itself is up to Adobe's usual standards. It is suitable for the novice to intermediate editor, although complete newbies may be confused and intimidated. If you consider yourself to fall in that category, I'd encourage you to get your feet wet with Premiere Elements. It's a surprisingly powerful video editor, with just about all the features that Premiere Pro had a few years ago.
I got the book because I've been away from video editing for about a decade, and I am now getting back into it. So, for me, the learning starts around Chapter 5. And that brings up my only frustration with the Kindle book. The lesson folders have project files for each chapter, in case one starts in the middle of the book, as I have. But when I opened the Chapter 5 lesson file, Premiere Pro gave me warnings that it couldn't find source files needed for the project. I have resolved most, but not all of those issues. That issue prevents me from giving the book five stars.
One suggestion for Kindle version readers. Go to the publishers website (the link is in the Kindle book) and download *everything* on the lesson files page, including the bonus material. Media files aren't centralized, and to work through the Lesson 5 project, you will need the files for Lessons 1 - 4. In the next edition of this book, I would hope the publisher does a better job of organizing the media files to avoid this annoying glitch.
I only have one complaint but it's not enough to reduce the rating. The screen shots are TEENY making it hard to see what's in them. I'm constantly using a magnifying glass. My recommendation to Adobe is to include the screenshots on the DVD so a person can pull them up if they need to see more detail.
I've never used Premier pro before and find this book explains things very well. I've used other products in the Adobe suite and am pleased that some shortcut keys and icons for tools remain consistent throughout. Adobe is very good with that.
