Descripción del producto

Descripción del producto

This book shows how the planet’s earliest civilization lead the world in both material and spiritual progress. From the Vedic culture of ancient India thousands of years ago, we find the origins of such things as mathematics, especially algebra and geometry, as well as early astronomy and planetary observations, many instances of which can be read in the historical Vedic texts. Medicine in Ayurveda was also the first to prescribe herbs for the remedy of disease, surgical instruments for operations, and more.
Other developments that were far superior and ahead of the rest of the world include:
• Writing and language, especially the development of sophisticated Sanskrit;
• Metallurgy and making the best known steel at the time;
• Ship building and global maritime trade;
• Textiles and the dying of fabric for which India was known all over the world;
• Agricultural and botanical achievements;
• Precise Vedic arts in painting, dance and music;
• The educational systems and the most famous of the early universities, like Nalanda and Takshashila;
• The source of individual freedom and fair government, and the character and actions of rulers;
• Military and the earliest of martial arts;
• Along with some of the most intricate, deep and profound of all philosophies and spiritual paths, which became the basis of many religions that followed later around the world.
These and more are the developments that came from India, much of which has been forgotten, but should again be recognized as the heritage of the ancient Indian Vedic tradition that continues to inspire humanity.

Very attractive cover page. I am totally blown away by the in-depth knowledge of Stephen Knapp on Vedic Culture.
The author has guts to expose the bogus “Aryan Invasion Theory” proposed by the Mux (MAD) Miller in 1800s. During the Bronze Age many people migrated from India and settled in Germany and it’s not the other way. The most advanced civilization and very powerful empires flourished in India while the west and rest of the world including China were still wandering in the woods. The author did a splendid job in explaining the Vedic culture in straight forward and plain words. I highly recommend all the historians to read this book and come up with the real world history.

This book is an eye-opener on Indian Vedic Advancements and its importance/influence on modern world. What I am highly impressed with is the amount of supporting references/details mentioned in this book as it sifts through the immense advancements and contributions of this civilization! Immaculate proofs and evidence are provided to date the important events recorded in this civilization's history. Being from India, I am only saddened that I never read such history in my school years about Indian Civilization (perhaps due to variety of speculations that have been refuted only in recent times with series of major archeological discoveries)!

Like Knapp's other books, it is very well referenced and detailed. He covers many topics of ancient India's acheivements in the arts, sciences, agriculture, manufacturing, architecture, and especially interesting to me, governance; and other aspects as well. My only complaint is that the book is too short! I wish he had gone a bit more in depth, but he covered so many topics the book would have had to be a few hundred more pages.

India's real history has been hidden - for some reason the ancient histories of Egypt and other civilizations are well known; but India's secrets have not been so. It's time that changes, as it is now becoming clear that advanced civilizations in India pre-dated others all over the world. In fact, the more they dig, the more ancient finds they make. Much of what is taught as history is but bits and pieces, and history books will need to be re-written to include the ancient past of greater India.

A wealth of fascinating information.
Well written and thoroughly documented trip through man's early history. I now look at India with a much greater respect. This where much of our culture, math, science and religion began.

Stephen Knapp's findings compels one to look at history afresh. It is time to reexamine old information with neutral perspective, New awareness invariably requires a revision of old theories.
