Alexandre Stievenard Practical Study Of Scales For Clarinet Clt Tapa blanda
Descripción del producto
Reseña del editor
The practice of scales is indispensable for obtaining technical ability; unfortunately, it is too often neglected, in default of a good system of fingering. To make scale-practice really profitable, it is not enough for the student to play a scale from tonic to tonic; he must, besides, accustom himself to vary the rhythm and phrasing, and he should begin successively on each degree of the diatonic scale. Such is the aim of the little work which we herewith offer to clarinettists.

I like that the exercises are arranged so that each following patterns starts a the next scale degree (i.e. the first exercise starts on C, the next starts on D, the next starts E, within the C Major scale pages). This helps train the student to not expect everything in key to begin and end on the tonic.
I appreciate that the book is oriented landscape or horizontally so that the print can be large enough to be easily read and most (all?) exercises fit on one line each.
If you have already have a classic scale and arpeggio pattern book on your stand, this will make an excellent next step or supplemental book.
