Buen trabajo de los omnipresentes Judas, si buscas riffs metalicos , y esos ritmos de Priest, este no te dejara indiferente. Buena compra.

4.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas Great music...but both U.S. editions need work 9 de marzo de 2005

Formato: CD de audio
As for the music...this is classic Priest. Great to hear Halford back in the group. As for the U.S. cd releases, well, they both were less than satisfactory. Unlike some reviewers, my star rating is for hte music, not the CD issues. Most of you notice that there are two versions of this album available. There is a "dueldisc" edition and a limited "hardcover" book edition. The "dueldisc" version generates more problems. This is a new type of technology that is still in the working process and there is even a warning on the CD case. The disc features the music portion on one side and a the DVD features on the other. Because of this, the CD is thicker than the usual CD. Since it is thicker, the cd has a hard time playing in a lot of CD players. Forget about playing it in your CD deck in your car. Alot of players also scratch up the DVD side when trying to play the music side. I know a lot of people like myself like to make copies of our CD's so we can play 'em in our cars without worry of ruining the original discs. Forget about that as the new copy protection makes this impossible. Overall, the "dueldisc" edition blows and should be avoided. People wanting to avoid all the hassle of the ultra-garbage dueldisc version are better off buying the limited hardcover book edition. This has the CD and DVD on seperate discs. You are also able to make back-up copies of the CD for your car with this one. The downfalls of this release is that the CD and DVD come in little slipcases inside the 'book'. This means that if you keep removing the discs, you have a chance of damaging them. I even know a few individuals whose discs came pre-scratched because of these slipcases. The hardcover book is also only slightly better than those dreaded digipacks as it can get ruined very easily. Still, even with its downfalls, the limited is by far the way to go. If only they released it in a regular double jewel case instead...

5.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas The Priest really are the Metal Gods 2 de agosto de 2007

I had almost given up on good metal becoming a reality in my lifetime (with a few rare exceptions of course) till the Priest reunited. I held my breath and hoped for at least a savory morsel from the past. That's not what I got: Judas Priest came back from the dead and kicked my arse! This is easily a collection of some of the best work of any metal band of any time...period. Judas Priest is REAL, and it shows in the music. It's classic Priest while being on the cutting edge of great metal.
Any metalhead must, and I repeat must own this CD. The DVD side reaffirms why metal isn't just great music to me but a way of life; it's an attitude about life and it's being part of a family (with a few disfunctional members like all families!).
Buy this CD and be prepared to raise your devil fist and be blown away.
All the best, MLC

5.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas Awesome new Priest release! 3 de marzo de 2005

I've been a Priest fan since "Sin After Sin" came out when I was in high school in 1977. While I didn't dislike the Ripper era Priest, I've been waiting for a new album with Rob Halford for 14 years. This cd deliveres! Even the slow songs are done masterfully, and Rob uses a different singing style on "Worth Fighting For" to great effect. But the killer songs are the reason you came, and it's here where the cd shines. "Demonizer" and "Hellrider", the stand-out tracks in my opinion, would fit on "Painkiller", with great lead guitar work from Glenn and KK, and outstanding drum work by Scott. "Judas Rising", "Wheels of Fire" and "Deal with the Devil" fit nicely into the "Screaming for Vengance" era. Rob's in great form here and the production by Roy Z is outstanding. This album is a must have by all Priest fans and heavy metal fans!

5.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas Priest Still Rocks! 5 de marzo de 2007

Having grown up in the 80's when metal was pretty popular I became a big fan of JP. I don't buy too much music anymore, partially because I have issues with the RIAA criminals, as well as there just isn't much new stuff I like.

Any way this is some great stuff by JP, I kinda had doubts Rob could still sing so well, but he proved me wrong. I pretty much like all the songs, which is rare. Any priest fan should be pleased.

One bad thing about this "dual disc" is I was unable to even read the CD side of the disc on either of my computers (3 cd drives total). Which bummed me out as I wanted to copy to my Sansa player. So what I did was extract the music on my PS3, then copied it to a USB drive and back to a computer where I could copy it over to my Sansa.

4.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas Oh My God!! Guitar Solos!!! 15 de abril de 2006

"Angel of Retribution" is slab of energetic old-school metal that shows the Priest returning to form. Rob Halford's amazing pipes, Glenn Tipton and KK Downing's thick riffs and monster solos, as well as Ian Hill and Scott Travis's crushing, never to be underestimated, rhythm section. And the best ingredient in the mix is attitude. For AOR, Priest is back with some engergetic, headbanging, pump-your-fist-in-the-air, songwriting.

For the "Ripper" albums (no disrespect to Ripper, he is an amazing singer), Priest took a dark turn trying to sound more like Korn and other contemporary metal bands and it just didn't work and made Priest sound like they were playing "catch-up" in a genre over which they pretty much ruled throughout the late 70's, 80's and early 90's.

Is it their best record? No. But it puts many contemporary metal bands to shame and shows what these guys are capable of.

I hope I don't sound too old when I say that I wish to God all those nu-metal bands out there who believe that one arpegiated chord repeated 70 times constitutes a "guitar solo" would buy this album and give it a listen!
