Been doing advanced automotive engineering for years, my Bronco II overheated from a bad thermostat, and I developed a non-combustion chamber cylinder head crack. I was losing coolant to the crankcase, as evident by the fluid in the crankcase oil, and the lack of evidence of burning coolant. Any of my other cars, sure, I would have pulled the head, and replaced it, magnafluxed, etc etc lots of $$$, but this is my daily driven beater car with the factory engine and 200k miles. I used less than directed, calculated appropriately with cooling system volume, and this worked like a charm. (Approximately 1/3 the bottle on a 15 ish quart system using a 40/60 ethylene gylcol to water mix)

The newer types of 'block seal' (generally a light[er] density silicate) work much better than the older types from what I can tell, both in ease of deployment, and a ratio of efficacy to negative side effects, such as blocking a heater core, small diameter passage, or sticking the thermostat/radiator cap open.

It's worth a shot, and I get to keep my piece of crap on the road, and save a good few thousand dollars for hopefully another year or two, need be.

5.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas What Every GM V6 Owner Needs to Know 1 de octubre de 2011

It is no secret that GM has thousands of unhappy customers due to bad design of intake manifold gaskets, look it up on the web. After having the intake gaskets replaced three years ago they went again, they last about three years before blowing again due to bad gaskets and the effects of DexCool. I parked my vehicle trying to decide what to do. After much internet research I decided to tr{ this product. I am very pleased to say it works and is well worth the price. I do not know how long the fix will last but at least I can use my vehicle again, if I get another year of driving out of it I'll be happy.
Again, it works. As an old broken down "wrench" I would have torn into it when I was younger but am not going to go through $2700 repair every two to three years.

Update, 3/28/2012
Vehicle still running with no leaks or loss of coolant. You will need to keep it clear of your radiator cap so coolant can pull back from the overflow resivoir. This stuff works, look at the reviews here they aren't fabrications.

Update, 10/22/2012
Still running just fine. Arizona summers find all sorts of weak spots in your cooling system, none arose this past year or summer. The coolant loss situation I faced was as bad as any I've read about here or other sites so it's not like it was minor. Maybe I am lucky but this product has given me use of my "family hauler" vehicle for just short of one year and another 5K miles of around town use.

Update 12/15/2012
Well the leak fix popped last week and it's back to sucking coolant into the intake manifold. I will flush the cooling system and try the Bars Leaks again. I got just over a year of vehicle use with it so if you get results like this it's worth it.

Update 1/21/2013, Weather was nice today so I added another bottle of this product ran it for 15 minutes while temperature held steady. Upon cooling down and checking fluid levers I drove eight miles with temperature holding right where it should. If past performance is going to repeat I should be drivable for another year.

Update 08/09/2013 vehicle still drivable through another hot summer, even days up to 114 degrees. Would not of course take a long trip in it but for around town use it's holding up. Your case may be different but if your vehicle is old enough to have virtually no trade in value and need something to get you to and from work it is worth a try.

It will seal up any head gasket leak and will not clog the cooling system; its a brilliant product; Stealership wanted $2400.
This thing fixed it for $26. Engine still works perfectly to this date. Note: most auto product stores don't carry
it because they get tons of more $ on a selling parts for a costly repair. The only place that has it is W*lmart. No time. Order
this via over night mail. Its worth the expense to get it fast.

I have a 1999 Chrysler 300M. Heater stopped working at idle, filled it up a and a couple weeks later no heat again. Turned out to be a head gasket leak. I was very skeptical at first about this product, but I thought I'd at least give it a try, because the other alternative was over $1000 to fix. I can say I am totally impressed. 8 months later and almost 20,000 miles it hasn't lost a drop of antifreeze.
Thank you Bar's !!!!
