This Jeep fits 2 adult dolls plus 2 Chelsea-sized dolls in the rear seat. If you leave the tailgate down, you can have 2-3 or 4 adult dolls in the car, although their legs would be sticking out the rear.
The front has sufficient room for Ken in at least the driver's position (although I'm assuming either / both front seats would work).
A note for parents / grandparents of young children: You can leave off the hood assembly, as it comes unassembled. This makes placing the dolls in the car a little easier. I wish we had left off our roof.
We did not find stickers for the tail lights in ours, and I almost did not see the sideview mirrors. (They're in a small pouch and need to be attached, as does the roof assembly. I do not recommend removing the roof assembly once attached, as doing so might damage something.) The roof assembly and sideview mirrors were the only parts we had to attach, I think -- except maybe also the tailgate, although I think that one was pre-attached. Stickers were attached to the dashboard, but we had to apply the ones to the front.
Regarding the swivel license plate and tailgate: Opening the tailgate is not dependent on swiveling the license plate. I think the license plate swivel is just a decoration to approximate the real-life spare tire tailgate swivel on a real Jeep. That said, I found that we had to be gentle with the tailgate, or the whole thing might come off. (No big deal: it reattaches fairly easily, with no damage noticed.)
Anyway, I do recommend this Jeep over a two-doll convertible or similar car, as you can fit a Barbie / Ken + kids family in this vehicle.
We do not have a Barbie doll house, so you would have to ask someone if it fits the garage.
