2.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas Great shoe, bad sizing 22 de abril de 2013

I read a lot of WONDERFUL reviews of these shoes and was very excited to buy a pair. I have a pair of barefoot running shoes by another brand, but the trails where I live have a lot of loose rocks. The treads on the Neo look great for the conditions. The sizing is European, and translates into only whole US sizes. I typically wear a 7.5 in shoes. The 37 (7) was a bit too short but the width fit well. The shoes fit, but just walking around my apartment in them, I felt that if I was running downhill, my toes would uncomfortably jam into the toe of the shoe. I also don't think thick socks would be an option with that size. I exchanged the first pair for a 38 (8) and the shoe was much too big - too long and too loose. So I think if you wear a half size, you may have to try another brand. It's unfortunate because looking at both pairs I ordered, the shoes are very well made. They are light, have great treads, tie tightly and have a nice fit around the ankle.

I really like the fit. The toe box is nice and wide, but not too wide. The whole shoe fits like a glove! I got these last fall and was having a great time running in them, but then the summer came and it uncovered their one and only weakness: the fabric does not breath very well. The fabric does a good job of keeping moisture from the trails out, but it also does not let any moisture out, so my toes get sweaty and gross inside. Also, the in-sole comes out every time i take them off, no matter how careful i am to untie them...

If you live in a cool place or plan on not training in the summer, this is a great shoe! I love how well it grips the ground when I'm running trails. The grips are NOT too much for sidewalks/paved trails. I have ran in both and i have felt great on both. I bought these to replace my Merrell Trail Gloves (which i had totally wore out). I really wanted more GRIP for trails, so i thought I'd venture into these and I'm glad I did. I wear these without socks. NOTE: i already knew my European size, so that made it easy to get the right size on the first try. If you don't know your European size, go to a shoe store and find out by trying on some shoes.

Sizing on these was hard - I had to get a couple sizes before I got the correct one. Every site said something different about them being too big or too small. I wear an 8 in most shoes (an 8 1/2 in my Nike Free running shoes but I like those big) and I settled on the 38 in these. I didn't want any extra room - really wanted them to fit like gloves so when I am going downhill - my big toe sometimes hits the end but it is not at all a problem. I have run roads in Nike Frees (5's) for 2 years - nothing else, but they just picked up too much of the trails in the treads and I felt that there was too much extra shoe. This shoe kept the minimalist feel that I like and added a really great grippy tread. Since I am used to the neutral/minimal shoes, I didn't take time to break them in slowly - but if this is your first time in this type shoe, you likely want to take them for short runs first or you're going to get sore calves. No blisters when I took them right out of the box and ran for 1 1/2 hours. I will wear them with socks - they're not super breathable so my feet got sweatier than usual. In the winter, they will probably be perfect and for now, I can handle a little sweat. Love the navy - they're a great looking shoe.

I am in love with my Vivobarefoot Trail Running shoes. I loved my first pair so much I bought two more pairs. I use to only wear New Balance running shoes because they felt better and lasted longer then any other running shoe, but these shoes better. They are light weight, yet supportive. My orthotics fit well. I usually cut the inner liner to fit my orthodics, but the insert is so thin I would advise against it. I cut one pair and really wish I hadn't. I need a new pair of running shoes every 2-3 months. My first pair of Vivo's are two months old and the tread looks the same as the day I bought them. I wore these shoes through a creek and by the end of my run they were dry. These shoes perform better in water then my Columbia water to trail shoes. These shoe fits true to size length wise, but the toe box does seem roomier then most shoes, but it doesn't seem to effect performance.
5.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas I was skeptical that these would feel like the true barefoot experience 26 de diciembre de 2014

I have been a moccasin-wearer for decades, and by moccasin I mean just a strip of leather between my foot and the ground. I aim for going barefoot as often as possible, on concrete or dirt or whatever. Shoes makes me clumsy. I avoid them. I was skeptical that these would feel like the true barefoot experience. I mean, look at those treads. They're giant! And indeed, wearing these sneakers is not the same as being barefoot, but after a few hours in them, I realized I was picking up all the same information about the ground beneath me that barefooting gives me. It's like it was translated through a filter. I'm very pleased. I will definitely not be afraid to run fast in these.
