Reseña del editor
A bad boy biker from the Ghetto. Born to the gang. Born to kill. A beautiful, young woman from the Heights. Born to be free. Born to love. Polar opposites. But one thing binds them: A tragic past. Jake vowed never to love again after his girlfriend was brutally murdered. He’s never forgiven himself for her death. As for Dakota, her happiness was killed by a loss so deep she'd stopped living. After years of sleeping with biker groupies, Jake's bad boy reputation is ripped apart as soon as Beauty steps into his life. As for Dakota, the hunky, inked, heavily muscled, bad boy forces her to live again. Her very life depends on it. This story tells of Beauty's transition into Bad Boy's world of violence, betrayal and death. A world dominated by men who live by a strict code where love and beauty come second to the gang. It would take a woman of a certain calibre to stand by such a bad boy. But Dakota isn't just any woman. She can fight. She can shoot, and she has the mouth of a sailor. Her grim past has forced Dakota to be headstrong, and so she rebuffs Jake's need to protect her. But Dakota must realise she is as tough as her understanding that, once in awhile, she needs a tenacious man to lean on–especially if that man’s idea of love is to lay his life down for her. They say when you're at your lowest point your soul is lost. But what happens when the ties of fate bind two lost souls? Would they choose to risk their last remnant of hope to be together? Beauty and the Bad Boy is about two lost souls who made such a choice one night, and the dangerous journey they embark upon because of it. But, will their instinct to fight for love save them or will it be their undoing in the end? BEAUTY & the BAD BOY is a NEW ADULT novel in the exciting BAD BOY SERIES about dangerous, sexy bad boys and the beautiful women that open their hearts to them. Suitable for ADULTS 18+ Contains strong language, violence, and graphic scenes of a sexual nature.

But-- That being said I just couldn't finish it. I got 70% through it last night and I was so frustrated with the key points and the telling not showing that I couldn't move forward.
I really like the idea of this story. Not a fan of her being a teen parent and almost a professor and she's just 21. Among other things- That just doesn't add up. Not that a book has to be realistic. It just has to have some believably.
The Key characters in this story I do like. The passion they feel for one another is great! It's wonderfully composed. It's what you want a couple to feel toward one another. However, from the first chapter they feel that way and it never really changes.
They key factor here for me is this... No author whether it's me or any other author-- They are not perfect. Our books are never perfect and we can't please everybody. Some people like what others don't. It's a fact of life.
For me this didn't do it mainly because the story was the same throughout with mild angst parts. The sex scenes even if they were great... and well written. They were also the same. And the only time showing with words occurred was a various parts of the story. The rest was telling me what happened. Which is fine to do sometimes. But I want to be reeled in and fall IN LOVE with the story and this one didn't make me fall in love.
I want to finish this out by saying. I really think this author did a great job coming up with a cool story. I think she added a lot of great elements and uniqueness. Like a badass main character. It just didn't hit what I need out of a book.
And when we thought Dakota was dead, ugh that killed me! I was sooo furious, lol. Thank God for the rest of the book. Again, I'm not trying to hurt, just being honest in how I see and feel the book. There are things I didn't like and bothered me, some things I LOVED. Also there was quite a few grammar errors and sentences that didn't make sense, my hope for the author next time is a better editor or beta. I would read more by this author, I could possibly even see more with these characters and would read it too. Give it a chance though, it might be exactly what you need. I did enjoy it :-)
Some quotes I loved:
"I'm pretty sure me and my bike can handle you, gorgeous. No trouble at all. "
"I quit wearing lace along ago, babe. It chafes too much."(LOL, I love him)
"Courage is grace under pressure."
"You are so beautiful, Dakota. Jesus. You hurt my heart."
"I was until you, Beauty."
"So what happened tonight, to me, is that I felt like I could have something good in my life. ANd I started to fall for a girl who showed it to me."
"I know I look like a high class prostitute with these looks, but last night was free, babe."(He makes me literally laugh my a$$ off)
"I think I'm gonna fall hard and fast for you, Dakota."
"Jake, I love you. I'm surprised every day by how much. Being with you has changed my life-has changed me-in ways I don't think you realize, in ways I don't think even I fully realize. I have a life and a heart that is fuller than it ever was. I have a family in a way I never had."
"But I want to spend the rest of my life in the peace I feel with you. I want you to be my Birdy. This ring is a promise to you that in the future we will get married and we will be together forever...Dakota, will you accept this ring and promise to be mine forever?"
"But, you're mine. And I'm yours. For eternity. Where you go, I go."
"I want to spend the rest of my life with you, Dakota. I know what it's like to be without you , and I don't ever want to know what it feels like again."
"We've got the whole world to discover. Always remember that, Beauty."
The gang life was interesting. I thought the author painted a very convincing picture of trying to straddle life in or around a gang. There was quite some violence in this book. Killing and violence against women. If that bothers you, this might not be the read for you.
One thing I couldn't get my head around was the age of Dakota. I thought her age didn't match her life experience. The amount of trauma, for lack of a better word, just didn't sit real to me. I thought she much older, like mid to late 20's. Her education didn't match the age either, it was a bit unrealistic. But, since it is my imagination, I can pretend she is older than she is!
There were some typos too that I found were quite distracting. I would sometimes re read a sentence because of the wrong use of a word or a typo.
That being said it was a good read. Good bad boy and strong independent woman, what more could you want?
