I am an audiophile and also I also install and run commercial sound systems. I have used many different brands of commercial audio equipment, including Behringer. Behringer has somewhat of a bad reputation in the business, and some of it was deserved. Years ago, much of it's equipment was junk. They have improved dramatically in recent years, and their newer equipment tends to be pretty good at a very low price.
One of their lines that has stood out is their Europower amps. They are priced low, but their performance is excellent, and they are built rock solid. I have two of them, a 2000 watt and a 4000 watt, and they have both held up fine.
I initially bought this amp for a job I was working on, then realized that I wouldn't need it. I started to return it. But being that it was already paid for, I just had to keep it. LOL
I have a workshop where I spend what little free time I have. When I'm working in there, I play music and play it loud. Awhile back I bought a Pyle PA amp to drive my shop speakers because I needed more power than a typical home receiver could muster. I realize Pyle is....Pyle; but it has done a good job and produced good quality music.
I wanted to go ahead and check out this iNuke amp while it was still in the return period, so I swapped it out with the Pyle amp. I was not expecting such a difference in sound quality. The iNuke amp sounds much richer and fuller than the Pyle, and the bass response from it is much more solid. The Pyle is getting retired to standby duty, and this one is staying in my shop.
I wanted to mention too that this amp is very lightweight. The old Behringer amps, thought excellent, weigh about the same as a concrete cap block. What a nice surprise to get this kind of power and quality in a box you can pick up with one hand.
I'll try to report back after the baby gets some time on it. But for now, I heartily recommend.
I still have nothing but good things to say about this amp. The sound quality is excellent, it's lightweight, it's quiet, it looks good. It's earned a permanent place playing loud music in my shop. Excellent product for a reasonable price.
Three caveats I noticed:
1) the fan is probably too noisy for theatrical applications (unless you put the amp in a separate room), but for other applications it shouldn't be a problem.
2) they designed this to stick out quite a bit from the rack. it probably is still within specs, but I actually put on the rack cover just to verify that it would still fit (it did). still, this could be an issue in some situations, e.g. if you have a 1U unit with lots of buttons between two of these.
3) while the unit is 2U high, it has rubber feet at the bottom that make it more than 2U. If you are really tight on space in your rack you may have to scrape the feet off, or something.
I didn't try the internal cross-over or the bridge mode, so I can't comment on that. Although I may try the bridge mode at some point to get even more power out.
This unit is fantastically light and was a joy to put in the audio rack compared to heavier units. The fan noise is significant if you are in to quiet music. I like my music loud so it's not a problem. It delivers plenty (more than I actually need) of clean power and runs cool. I have some other Behringer gear and all of it works to my satisfaction.
