5.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas A great choice for most trails and weather. 18 de abril de 2013

Lightweight but very sturdy aluminum that folds for easy storage. Impressive construction with great shaped foam handles that repel sweat. Also includes interchangeable tips for your preference or turf needs, including rubber and metal for most any surface. Basically perfect for any season except Winter! Not intended for snow or icy conditions.

So, what's not to love? Well, you won't be loving them if you get the wrong size. I don't see a size chart anywhere, so this is how it goes...

If your height is 5'1" or less, get the 100cm
5'1"=5'7" get the 110cm size
5'8"-5'11" get 120cm poles
and 6' or more, the 130cm ones.

For walking and hiking:
if you are specifically 5'7" or 5'11", get the next size up.

For running or constant uphill trek:
if you are specifically 5'2", 5'8" or 6', go a size down

5.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas Best poles ever! 12 de noviembre de 2013

I bought these prior to my attempt to yo-yo hike the Pictured Rocks Lakeshore trail (85 miles in 36.5 hours). Needless to say I wanted to conserve every ounce of energy and not have to worry about adjusting poles all the time like I usually end up doing. These things absolutely rock! I love the extended grip which allows me to "choke up" on the pole going uphill. I love the way the straps are attached. There is a thinner nylon cord that joins the pole to the thicker strap which allows me to quickly flip the pole around for coming off of tall boulders, etc. Love the fact that I can fold them up and stow them in my pack if needed. They are so much smaller and easier to handle than traditional telescoping poles. The rubber tech tips are so much nicer than the regular carbon tips. They are a lot quieter and they grip well on just about anything. I thought I would only end up using these for my fast day hikes but I've ended up using them for almost everything including a recent week long trip in Zion NP in about every type of terrain imaginable. These things are just plain awesome!

The poles came on time and just before a trip where I expected to do lots of hiking. They were compact and easy to pack In my suitcase and assembled quickly and efficiently when I reached my destination. I have decided I will not use them for all or part of some of my hikes but found them particularly useful for steeper grade downhill trekking.

5.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas Rated as the best poles by our guides on the Inca Trail 1 de octubre de 2011

This is my 3rd pair of poles. When I was going to hike the Inca Trail (4 days) I knew I wanted the best poles I could find. I also needed something lightweight and packable. I always thought these were very good poles, and then my guides asked to buy my poles (and my husbands too!). I assume they have seen every type of pole imaginable.

These Inca Trail guides hike an average of 6 days/week. The elevation gain can be 4000' in a day. The trail is almost entirely granite, and lets just say terrain can be unforgiving on the body. With 300+tourists from around the world on this trail per day, the guides have seen every pole out there. On the last day of our hike, 2 guides approached us and asked to buy these poles from them (to replace their REI poles). Their knees and ability to do the trail day in and day out is their livelyhood. I didn't want to part with these (because they are not cheap), but I wasn't going to sell them either (thats tacky when they just helped me get my tail from point A to point B for 4 days. I left these poles on the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, they are in good hands and doing a lot more good than in my garage.

***Make sure you get the correct size, they are 1 size and not adjustable.

We wanted a set of poles that were easy to fit in a day pack and these filled the bill. We live in NW Montana near Glacier National Park, and these poles stay in the car at all times. We recently bought some new bikes to ride into the park early in the year before it is open for tourism and we are planning some back-country trips, so we wanted some easy, packable poles. These are a pleasure to use - very sturdy and strong, fold up to a very small size, and amazingly light. We bought two sets, and I would purchase them again.
