Mi película predilecta. Cualquier cineasta que se precie subjetivamente reconocerá que es la comedia mejor parida del mundo. Frank Oz se sale.

4.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas Well, Steve Martin is superb but this is kind of a snoozer 8 de noviembre de 2016

I don't know how I have either not seen this before or don't remember it. I watched every Steve Martin/Eddie Murphy/Chevy Chase/Bruce WIllis/etc. movie with my dad growing up.

This was campy, but amusing.

Steve Martin rocked his roll as did the cast in their respective rolls. And while they each brought it to their roles and the movie was overall entertaining . . . it wasn't great. It was okay+. It did have some funny moments. It had a lot of hollywood internal jabs - at least from an outsiders perspective.

Probably won't watch again any time soon, but can recommend a decent entertainment.

Adult situations - the kinds you don't want to explain to your kids, but nothing visually obscene.
4.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas Why did I never hear of this? 9 de diciembre de 2016

I love Steve Martin, and don't know how I missed hearing of this. There were a few flat out hilarious scenes, with both me and my husband laughing out loud. When the director of a movie needed the sound of a lady's pair of heels? Why, put them on the well-trained dog, of course. And the assurance "they are all stunt drivers," while urging a stooge to run across a busy freeway. Silly, fanciful, typical mix, and well with the purchase price in my opinion.

4.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas Silly fun 30 de diciembre de 2007

Bobby Bowfinger (Steve Martin) is a 49 year old combination has-been / wannabe film director. In desperation, he hatches a scheme to shoot a movie using action star Kit Ramsey (Eddie Murphy) without Kit knowing that he's in the film. Using a Candid Camera style of filming, he sends his actors at Kit with their lines prepared and films the result. It's silly and bizarre, and it also plays into an existing paranoia that Ramsey happens to have which greatly adds to his reaction as they film. Bowfinger uses borrowed equipment and a virtually non-existent budget as he races to finish the film before he's discovered and/or he runs out of money.

This is not the kind of movie one watches for thinking deep thoughts, but there are a few moments that are genuinely hilarious and most of the rest is amusing enough to be endearing. One scene involving Eddie Murphy running across the freeway is especially funny and justifies watching the whole movie. Murphy plays two parts in the film, Kit Ramsey, the paranoid egomaniac star and his brother Jiff, a dorky go-fer. He's especially funny as Jiff and clearly relishes the part. Steve Martin brings a fairly understated approach to his role as the puppet master trying to orchestrate the film and it works very well. Heather Graham somehow manages to pull off being a small-town naïve girl who simultaneously sleeps her way to the top with stunning rapidity.

Bowfinger is probably not the funniest comedy you'll ever see, but it has a few great scenes and the balance of the film is reasonably entertaining. The basic story resembles Ed Wood (Special Edition) in many respects, but is presented in a much more accessible and mainstream manner. It's silly fun that requires its audience to sit back, switch off the brain, and enjoy the ride. As long as you're prepared to do that, you'll probably like the movie.

Having worked in the film business, I can tell you that this hilarious film is way closer to the truth about independent film making that you would imagine. Super entertaining. Product was exactly as described, came quickly and I would buy from the same place again without question
