Reseña del editor
IF YOU DON'T KNOW SIMON SCARROW, YOU DON'T KNOW ROME!
BROTHERS IN BLOOD is the unputdownable thirteenth novel in Simon Scarrow's bestselling Eagles of the Empire series. Perfect for fans of Bernard Cornwell. Praise for Simon Scarrow's compelling novels: 'Gripping and moving' The Times
The Roman Empire's conquest of Britannia is under threat from within.
A messenger on the streets of Rome has been intercepted and tortured, revealing a plot to sabotage the Roman army's campaign against Caratacus, commander of Britannia's native tribes. A treacherous agent's mission is to open a second front of attack against them and eliminate the two Roman soldiers who could stand in the way.
Unwarned, Prefect Cato and Centurion Macro are with the Roman army pursuing Caratacus and his men through the mountains of Britannia. Defeating Caratacus seems within their grasp. But the plot against the two heroes threatens not only their military goals but also their lives.
Includes 2 maps and Roman army organisation chart.

Simon Scarrow certainly knows how to write a fast paced intriguing plot, laced with visceral gritty bloody combats and battles, interwoven with in-depth historical detail.
I for one find this latest offering, if somewhat predictable, still a thoroughly good yarn, the author has an innate sense for the period and is also a master of characterization, so much so that after reading all thirteen sequels to date I feel a definite bond with the characters Macro and Cato, more so with Macro. Having served in the Para brigade for many years, I can attest to Simon's grasp of the camaraderie that exists between men who have faced danger in battle and the earthy wit that abounds even in times of great hardship and peril.
Bearing in mind the no spoilers rule, it is only left for me to say that long may the Eagle series continue.
The perfect companion to the eagle series is the ROMA VICTRIX WINE BEAKER.
Simon in his review says:
Beautifully sculpted it is a very handsome thing! The reason why I particularly like this cup is that it features the men and insignia of the second legion, the unit in which Cato learned how to become a soldier under the affectionate eye of Macro! it's a lovely thing and has pride of place on my desk right now!
