2.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas Good optical quality. Bad construction and durability. 18 de agosto de 2014

I have had these for a little over a year, and they have fallen apart in 3 different ways. I use them mostly for hunting, but sometimes use them for recreation as well. The first elk hunting trip I took them on, the Right eyepiece fell off! I called Bushnell, and they were not very helpful. There is a process to get things repaired, but it is complicated, and really designed to keep you from returning a defective product. I was able to fix the eyepiece, but after the hunting trip. Also, the objective lens cover is bad. It falls off all the time, and I have had to order new ones from Bushnell. Lastly, as I discovered when I was prepping for this year's hunting trip, the left lens does not focus with the focus knob... only the right lens. I am leaving in 2 weeks, and I am forced to buy another pair of binos... Not Bushnell this time. I have written Bushnell about the focus knob, but I am not optimistic that it will be an easy process.

Overall, the rainguard coating works well, and the quality of optics was good. However, I need a reliable piece of equipment that is going to work when I need it to work. This piece of gear is shoddily constructed and really better suited to a recreational user who is going to keep it in a case somewhere and pull it out to look at things on the family vacations. Or maybe a travel set that you don't mind losing in Thailand. That's what I am going to use them for from now on... after they are repaired. If you do any serious hunting where you are putting down miles tracking game, then this is not the piece of gear for you.

The harness is nice and they are small and lightweight. I'll give them that.

5.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas Best buy for the money Period! 18 de diciembre de 2010

I am an avid naturalist that enjoys great optics. My primary pair is Pentax DCF SP 10x43. I wanted a smaller size to lighten my load while hiking in the Santa Cruz mountains. I am an avid birder and absolutely require a bright and clear image. These legend binoculars have Ed glass and a huge field of view. I actually enjoy the image color contrast better than my by far higher dollar Pentax. They are compact, well built. The Pentax wins for heavy duty construction though for rough handling in the field.

But these sell for considerably less money and even have a $50.00 rebate for Xmas ordering along with a free camo fleece jacket valued at $100 bucks. Included also is a nice shoulder harness free.

I believe any birder/outdoorsman will find these a terrific value. The only other binocular I would get in this class for more money is the vortex viper 8x32. Bushnell also offers a money back guarantee for 1 year to use and try. You would have to spend hundreds more dollars to get the view this optic provides.

Cons: One is the large case to carry binocular in instead of a compact case and the field of view is compromised by the limited twist up 2 clicks. It should have 1 more click to comfortably view fov without glasses.twist up eyecups. They are a little loose, but acceptable. It would be nice for a better system for the objective covers, but it does the job.

2.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas Bushnell Ultra-HD Legend 8x36 Camo.....disappointing. 13 de octubre de 2013

After purchasing the Legend 8x42 HD's....and surprised by how well they performed, I decided to get the Camo 8x36's also. I had to return them because the diopter ring was completely broken in two when they arrived. I saw that some other reviewers had the same issue but I decided to get them anyway. Amazon issued a refund within three days.

Bushnell's quality control on these units leaves alot to be desired so I cannot recommend the 8x36 Camo HD's. That's too bad because optically they are fine.

5.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas Stunningly good binoculars 8 de noviembre de 2010
Por Ted Dunning - Publicado en
We have just purchased these binoculars and already had a slightly older pair of Swarovski EL 8x42.

These Bushnells actually run with the big boys. Astronomical viewing is even better than the Swarovski. Daytime viewing is comparable with the very slight sharpness edge goes to the Swarovski's. Given the lighter weight of the Busnell and the 5-10x higher price of the Swarovski, this binocular has to be one of the best optical buys of all time.

The ONLY gripe that we have is that the objective caps have a ring that is slightly too loose which can let the caps fall off when you are using the binoculars. I think I can prevent that with a tiny keeper, but I would rather have not needed to.

I was not a binocular user until I got these. I have used binoculars before and always thought I couldn't see enough better with them to justify carrying them along. The 8x36 ultra HD legend changed my opinion, first they are small and light enough that they are not cumbersome. They are as clear and bright as any I have tryed and I spent a full year looking for the right pair. I can look out on a moonlit night and things get clearer and brighter with the binos. I can look at the dairy farm over a 1/4 mile away through a fence row and focus to the point I can tell what color ear tag the cow sticking her head out has, the tags are only 2"x3". So needless to say I am impressed.
