5.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas Heavy Duty Drop Leg Strap 3 de julio de 2016
Por MutsPub - Publicado en Amazon.com
Color: Black 8 Pack Compra verificada
Works perfect for a VERY STRONG drop leg strap for fixed blade knives. Will work on all Plastic, Kydex, Leather... sheaths with some type of belt loop. Combine with the appropriate sized split ring key ring (1-3" depending on the width of your sheath belt loop) Straiten the strap and tape the "split" with black duct and electrical tape to reinforce, making it one straight strap. Re-bend and place the "ring" that is attached to your sheath close to the snap on strap. You want the "cap" of the snap facing out. Tape the snap closed by simply wrapping around and around a few times with electrical tape so snap can not come open. Place "ranger band" (cut piece of inner tube) over the strap/tape for aesthetics. The tape on the snap is now invisible. The tape used to straighten the strap will be behind your belt, also invisible.
I found that if you use the strap just the way it comes it works fine, just not as strong. But, the edges of the strap on your belt tend to rub against your skin and becomes uncomfortable in time. With this mod the strap is smoother on your belt with no discomfort. Also with this method it makes the strap stronger by not having the ring or your belt in the "factory split" which is there by design to work with Molle systems.
I live in "Comifornia" where the knife laws allow you to carry a "Sheath" knife as long as it is not concealed. However, with a knife on your belt, a T shirt or jacket can cover part of the handle and can get you into big trouble IE: felony. You can even get in trouble for carrying your fixed blade knife in your backpack while camping, you need to strap it on the outside and visible.
You can also use the 4" strap instead for longer blades or machete, etc. I have set up several knives this way from a Mora to Ka-Bar/Becker. I put split rings on a bunch of different sheaths and just move the strap to the knife I choose to carry depending on the trip.
The tape is easily removed and replaced on the snap. Or, take the strap and move it to a different sheath with a split ring on it. Or, take the strap and split ring off the sheath and move to a different sheath with the same width.

If you think outside the box, there are many uses for this strap and/or large split ring key rings:

5.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas Good for gear that's for whatever reason missing one or more straps. 22 de abril de 2016

Works just as expected for Condor's MOLLE gear that uses them. I also retrofitted some of my other branded MOLLE gear with the leftovers. That way they don't hang off my vest and make me look like a complete putz.

great quality. I got these to use as straps to attach my Maxpedition Volta pouch to my belt. I wanted something with buttons so that I can detach the pouch when necessary. I use them everyday and attach/detach them several times through out the day. The buttons are holding up well and there is no fray on the straps.

Used for a chest strap for our son's Camelbak Skeeter (he uses the backpack for a continuous medication pump). Strong and worked perfectly.

Purchased these in order to attach my Condor HCB2 Hydration Carrier more securely to my plate carrier. They do the job and reccomend just having a few extra of these just laying around. You never know when you will need them.
