I bought this knife based on price and looks. Apparently when I did I didn't pay enough attention to the description because this bastard is HUGE. Too big to carry daily in my opinion. It is a beast of a knife that, by the looks, really has one purpose. Obviously, it's a knife, it cuts stuff. And that it does. But this knife, based off size and design is meant as a defensive weapon. And I would hope that no one would have to use it as such. Further, if someone was forced to use it in a self defense setting, I hope I'm not on the receiving end. The blade is thick and the point is sharp. The grip keeps your hand from moving anywhere. Wrap your mitts around this guy and you will know the meaning of secure grip. The pocket clip is right hand, tip down. The LAWKS mechanism works and is easy to manipulate. The weight of the blade, paired with phosphor bronze washers make this a breeze to open. I'm naturally a lefty and have no problems opening this knife with one hand, right or left. That's a nice feature. Lock up, via liner lock and optional LAWKS, is solid and tight, no movement in my model.

Make no mistake, this is one big knife. What surprised me was the size of the handle more so than the blade - really long grip area to wrap your entire hand around.

I opted for the serrated model just because I have so few of them. It really does come in handy to give you an extra edge in cutting at times. The "teeth" are seriously sharp too. I found that out the hard way.

I haven't fully tested the additional lock, but it's a nice feature and wisely place right where your thumb rests. The lock up seems sufficient already but this is a good bonus. For a large blade, it definitely opens with ease. The thumb studs are big enough to get traction with and from there you can even flick it open of need be. Opening and closing is very smooth and I didn't observe any noticeable blade play when open. The secondary lock is good to have, though. I couldn't decide if I wanted my next knife to be a folder or a fixed blade so this strikes a nice balance of the two.

The handle is a bit slick, though. I do wish there was a bit more gritty-ness to it. Obviously you don't want something that's going to shred your pockets but the handle could use a bit more grip to it. Even so, maintaining a good grip is easy despite a slightly slippery feel.

One minor downside is that the knife appeared to be black on black in the picture. Once you get it, the handle is indeed black but the blade is more of a gun metal grey type color. Not a big deal, though. I'm not a big fan of knives for defensive use but as a last resort this thing would likely do the trick.

Overall for under $20 it definitely seems like a big knife that you can use and abuse without any guilt.

4.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas Big Knife... Great for EDC... 27 de enero de 2016

This is my second time buying this knife... That's how good this knife is... It's sharp, it's stylish and it works... The handle is a tad bit slippery compared to my other tactical knives but the ergonic design makes up for it... You can grip the knife pretty good and once you get use to it... The knife is sharp right out of the box and with average usage, the knife didn't have to be re-sharpen till later on in the year... Big knife so if you have a big hand, you will like this knife when it comes to size... If you have small hands, this may not be the knife for you unless you really like big knives...

There is a couple of things I did not like about this knife though... First is the fact that after half a year of use, the knife starts to wiggle side to side as the main screw comes loose as well as the screws for the belt clip... But nothing a Loctite can't fix... So my advise is to get some Loctite and put a drop or two in those screws and you'll be good to go for years... Also, the knife sometime can open up easily when in the close position... There's not enough tension to keep the knife in a more secured, closed assembly... But it's still not enough to be a deal breaker for this knife...

Overall... If you're looking for an EDC or a Tactical knife that you can carry with confidence... Then this knife is for you...

5.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas A good and hefty bargain-priced carry option 11 de octubre de 2015

Great value for the dollars spent. This is a fairly large knife, but it works well for me in the front pocket of jeans. As for having this CRKT bargain at-the-ready in the event that I need to get some "alimentary canal exit" off of me: I believe this bargain-price folder in my pocket may be a better choice than the old faithful M16-10, if only for the heft of it and the butt-strike (Punyo) capability that this big-bodied knife brings to the party. The action is smooth, the lockup is solid, and this knife snaps open much faster than I expected. A real surprise.

Great knife for great price. The original Taiwan run was 3X or more the price 17ish years ago. Mine was stolen so I went looking and found this China run version. Bought this one for my girl, my sister and my buddy and got the tan one for me. Excellent for the price. Steel is comparable, comes very sharp. Big, sturdy knife. You won't be sorry.
