I opted for the serrated model just because I have so few of them. It really does come in handy to give you an extra edge in cutting at times. The "teeth" are seriously sharp too. I found that out the hard way.
I haven't fully tested the additional lock, but it's a nice feature and wisely place right where your thumb rests. The lock up seems sufficient already but this is a good bonus. For a large blade, it definitely opens with ease. The thumb studs are big enough to get traction with and from there you can even flick it open of need be. Opening and closing is very smooth and I didn't observe any noticeable blade play when open. The secondary lock is good to have, though. I couldn't decide if I wanted my next knife to be a folder or a fixed blade so this strikes a nice balance of the two.
The handle is a bit slick, though. I do wish there was a bit more gritty-ness to it. Obviously you don't want something that's going to shred your pockets but the handle could use a bit more grip to it. Even so, maintaining a good grip is easy despite a slightly slippery feel.
One minor downside is that the knife appeared to be black on black in the picture. Once you get it, the handle is indeed black but the blade is more of a gun metal grey type color. Not a big deal, though. I'm not a big fan of knives for defensive use but as a last resort this thing would likely do the trick.
Overall for under $20 it definitely seems like a big knife that you can use and abuse without any guilt.
There is a couple of things I did not like about this knife though... First is the fact that after half a year of use, the knife starts to wiggle side to side as the main screw comes loose as well as the screws for the belt clip... But nothing a Loctite can't fix... So my advise is to get some Loctite and put a drop or two in those screws and you'll be good to go for years... Also, the knife sometime can open up easily when in the close position... There's not enough tension to keep the knife in a more secured, closed assembly... But it's still not enough to be a deal breaker for this knife...
Overall... If you're looking for an EDC or a Tactical knife that you can carry with confidence... Then this knife is for you...
