Descripción del producto
Praise for "Cat Daddy"
"A joy. . . . Sometimes the biggest stories are actually the smallest ones--one man, one cat, and a quiet love that was large enough to save them both."
--Gwen Cooper, author of the "New York Times "bestseller "Homer's Odyssey "and "Love Saves the Day"
"This book is no ordinary cat memoir, nor is it an ordinary cat advice book. It is an inspirational tour de force that offers an intimate glimpse of Jackson, the man, and Jackson, the Cat Daddy."
--Ingrid King, publisher and founder, "The Conscious Cat", and award-winning author of "Buckley's Story: Lessons from a Feline Master Teacher"
"Mr. Galaxy--shaved head, arms full of tattoos--seems physically at odds with his gentle voice and gentle approach to animals. . . . But though he may be dealing with humans who have been terrorized and even bloodied by their out-of-control pets, he's a model of consistency. The cats, not the people, are his No. 1 priority."
--"The New York Times"

All in all a big step forward for cats, whose needs have been rather neglected compared to our canine friends. BUT . . . there's a glaring omission -- where are the cat litter boxes? If the idea is to make the home a haven for indoor cats, so they're not exposed to the dangers of the outdoors, then necessarily there must be cat boxes, and there's nary a mention. Jackson highlights the "catification" he did in his former tiny apartment with 3 cats, but if he follows his stated recommendation of 1 box per cat plus 1 -- it's left me wondering, does he really have 4 litter boxes in that 500 sf space? Where? What about the people with 11 cats that have built elaborate climbing shelves all over the house -- do they have wall to wall litter boxes in a spare bedroom or what? We need creative solutions for this part too, please.
This book has so many good ideas for the skilled home builder and the not-so-skilled, like myself, along with small to hefty budgets.
Happy cats are busy cats and this will show you how.
Many believe if you give a cat food, water and a litter box they are so independent that's all you need, so wrong. Having cats all my life, there is no doubt indoor cats need stimulation and now a days ALL cats should be indoor.
It's a good read with a lot of useful information. And if you like Jackson Galaxy, pick up Cat Daddy, his first book. It may give you insights into cats you did not have before!
