Descripción del producto

Christ The Album, is here. The fourth release in the Crassical Collection, a series of remastered, expanded and repackaged Crass albums. Released so far in the Crassical Collection, The Feeding of the Five Thousand, Stations of the Crass and P.... Envy. Recorded at Southern Studios between July 1981 and February 1982, Christ The Album was the fourth studio album from Crass. This reissue has been remastered from the original tapes and includes additional outtakes and a second disc featuring the live recording of their June 1981 gig at the 100 Club in London along with other studio tracks, demos, radio broadcasts and cassette recordings. Packaged in a slipcase, with a perfect bound booklet containing extensive liner notes from band members Steve Ignorant and Penny Rimbaud, lyrics and artwork painstakingly chosen and put together by Gee Vaucher, plus a CD sized recreation of the original poster, this release is beautifully presented. Ive only got vague memories of this one, but I do recall there was loads of talk around the table about how Kate Bush would go into the studio and lay down the backing tracks, then six months later go back with fresh ears and mix it and put down her vocals. Yeah, Christ The Album was going to be our selfindulgent rock masterpiece, just like proper musicians did, and now we were proper musicians. As if. By 1981 Crass had been in existence for four tempestuous years. In that time we d encouraged punk to grow from being no more than just another great rock n roll swindle into a genuine movement for change. Anarchy had been rescued from the dusty libraries of academia and the equally dusty dreams of barstool bull....ters to become the catchword for a whole new generation of streetwise activists. File Under: Punk, Art, Rock For Fans of: CRASS who else?

I like the Crass and have both Stations and the feeding of the 5000.
The crass are really pure anarchists and their lyrics tell the truth about
the corrupt society we all live in.
To any Crass fan and Anarchist : Buy this and you won't regret it.

why does every one say if you are looking or like the pistols or the clash then this is not the cd to get well i say you guys are retarted i like the pistols and the clash and crass was influenced by the clash even though they made fun of them
i highly recommend this cd just as much as any of the other crass albums i like stations the most but i think christ is just as good as feeding of the 5000 and penis envy and best before im not a big fan of yes sir i will but i still like it
i just dont listen to it that much but crass is one of the best punk bands forsure and if you like them i highly recommend these other bands if you havent heard of them and there albums first i got to say rudimentary peni they are one of my favorite punk bands they are very good and the two albums you should get by them is eps of rp and death church the next band is the mob i love them there different from crass they have slower songs but they are good the album you should get by the mob is let the tribe increase another band is amebix they are more on the crust metal punk side they squated with disorder but i think they are probably the best crust band and they are the ones that basically started crust the album that you should get by amebix is arise other bands are dirt, basically any band on crass records is good but those are some of my favorite anarcho punk bands you should definatly check them out

What can I say I love this CD.. Some people may say Crass has no talent.. Well I say they do.. Besides what is talent? Britney Spears? Isn't that just another statement like "that isn't NORMAL" I mean come on every form of art is beautiful (well I guess that means rap too.. damn..) I think that Crass has some of the most intelligent, wonderful, mind opening lyrics I've ever heard. The music's loud and there isn't much beat and some may say Steve Ignorant can't sing. Well I love this CD for all it's about. My favorite songs vary from time to time depending on my mood but right now I'd say they are Have a Nice Day, Major General Despair, I KNOW THERE IS LOVE, Nagasaki Nightmare.. and a few others. I suggest Crass if you're into old punk music and if you're into Dead Kennedys or Subhumans, and if you aren't - listen to them too! I wasn't sure about Crass when I first heard them - and Im sure you will to when you first listen to them - but this CD is one of my all time favorites.. Buy it and give Crass a chance..

Christ the Album is an abrasive, bit cacophony, but powerfully politically charged album, which attacks all forms of oppression, from the status quo family social norms (reality whitewash, mother love) to again the threat and control of war and government(Have a nice day). This album is a bit different from their others in that it starts off the songs with sound clips from media sources. The the clips and the ideas they embody is what the song will critique. If your looking for highly catchy pop-punk or music which resembles bands such as the clash or sex pistols then this album is not for you.
