Descripción del producto

Descripción del producto

This is a collection of Southern or Southern style cooking, Cajun & Creole dishes, that you don't need a Sous Chef to prepare. These are easy, fun to prepare, favorable, delicious, choices. The Southern style of food preparation in the United States is specified as the historical regional cooking form normally south of the Mason-- Dixon line dividing Pennsylvania from Maryland and Delaware and also along the Ohio River, and expanding west to southern Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas.

The most distinctive impacts originate from English, Scottish, Irish, German, French, Native American, and African American foods. Tidewater, Appalachian, Cajun, Creole, Lowcountry, and Floribbean are examples of types Southern cuisine. In current history, components of Southern cuisine have actually spread out north, having a result on the advancement of various other kinds of American food.

Lots of items such as squash, tomatoes, corn (and its derivatives, consisting of grits), and also the practice of deep pit grilling were acquired from the southeastern American Indian people such as the Caddo, Choctaw, and Seminole. A lot of foods associated with sweets, flour, milk, eggs (many sort of cooking or milk products such as cheeses and breads) are a lot more connected with Europe.

Many Cajun recipes or Creole food is based on France, and on Spain to a lesser extent. Floribbean is much more Spanish-based with evident Caribbean affects, while Tex-Mex has significant Mexican and Native American impacts.

1.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas Should have known 16 de marzo de 2013

Really..when I saw the description written by the author..that you wouldn't need a SUE-CHEF it should have given me a clue..if you can't spell it, and you can't look it up..then the quality of the book is certainly questionable... as was the case. It wasn't worth the space on my kindle..tossed it. NO editing, grammar, spelling errors throughout..the ingredient listings are jumbled. Got it free but..not worth the price.
3.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas Good recipes, but poor writing/formatting 6 de abril de 2013

If I was to judge this book solely on formatting and the technical portions of writing, this book would be a one-star arrangement. The formatting is dreadful, with the ingredients garbled to make reading them difficult. It's rampant with spelling errors/typos too. I'm still wondering whether the "Syrup Coke" was written that way or just a typo for "Cake", and that's the title of the recipe.

With that said, this is the first Kindle book I've seen with genuine Cajun and Creole recipes written by someone who had at least tasted the real deal. The recipes are authentic, and they look entirely possible to follow, at least if you have a general idea what you are doing. On the recipe front, the only complaint I would have is that I'd want more, and that makes it nearly a five star deal.

Unfortunately, the author didn't think it was important enough to make sure the formatting worked or that there weren't a lot of spelling & typo errors. If you can live with those, this is a great little cookbook.

The formatting of this book is horrid. The ingredients list is all jumbled together on each recipe so you can't tell what quantity goes with which ingredient.

I was pleased to see an introduction trying to explain what cajun and creole cooking are but after reading the short intro I'm still confused. The author did not do a good job defining what cajun cooking and creole cooking are all about.

This is a half-hearted attempt at producing an ebook. If the author wants us to take this book seriously he should do a bit more research into the subject he is writing about and spend some time editing and formatting.

The recipes also look too simplified. It feels like something is missing.

I have friends that are from Louisiana and some of the stuff they cook is in this book and it was always a treat when one of them cooked so I can't wait to try it myself. I especially want to try the barbeque shrimp. I have never had that before but it sounds so good. The different ingredients seem like they would go so well together.

Have tried a few recipes and have found it easy to follow. Most ingredients were readily available. Variety of meal types for me is important - love to experiment and also try heretofore never tried foods. Good book!
