The detail and styling of this figure is very, very impressive. He looks exactly like he stepped out of the Arkham Asylum video game. (If you have not played either Arkham Asylum or Arkham City, do yourself a favor and do so. It'll make you appreciate these figures so much more.) Croc features even the most of minute details, making him a very striking and intimidating looking figure. I was also astonished by his sheer size. He's huge! Articulation-wise, Croc has a good amount of articulation. And this is where the problems I'd heard about should have surfaced. The photos and reviews on Amazon indicate that Croc's arms break off at the shoulders. I made an effort to move around each articulated part on Croc's body. It is clear to me that his shoulders are not meant to be spun 360 degrees. You can move them a little bit, but his upper arms are hindered by his shoulders. I would not be surprised that it would break if I forced his arm to spin beyond the point at which it seems to be intended to spin. As such, perhaps I could have broken it with more effor to do so, but if you're paying $50 for what is essentially a glorified action figure, why risk that? Hopefully my thinking is correct and his arms do not randomly break one day. But for now, I am thoroughly impressed with this figure and pleased with my purchase.
Killer Croc is an extremely detailed, menacing figure that is hefty and worth the price of admission. Despite reported issues with his articulation, I found my figure to hold up with careful, reasonable use. I think if you go into purchasing Croc with this in mind, you will really enjoy him.
So after babying Croc out of the packaging, I noticed that all the base arm/leg joints are VERY stiff at first. So I can see how many break them off, by just absent mindedly trying to force an adjustment. But if you go very slowly and rock it back and forth, it the joint loosens up quite quickly and allows full range of motion without worry.
The detail on Croc is great... right up there with Bane. (My girlfriend says he's the cutest looking... sigh! Not something this owner wants to here about his manly looking action figure!)
I also like how he has jointed ankles. This makes it much easier to have him balance in various positions. None of my other characters can do this.
For the price (about half what these Deluxe Arkham figures retail for) this is a great deal that won't disappoint!
Just be careful with those first adjustments.
