5.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas Excellent Set of Forearm Crutches - Well Made! 31 de marzo de 2015

I needed an extra pair of crutches as my others had worn out from over use. I went to my local pharmacy and was told they could order a pair and they would be in the following day. On pick-up I was shown a cheaply made pair of forearm crutches that I refused to accept and was told, "We can't order a different pair for you." Twice I refused and they just didn't seem to understand how important the right crutches were for me.

When I got home I was worried I would not be able to get what I needed without driving from one place to another which is hard for me. I went to Amazon .com and found they had two companies offering the EXACT made crutches I needed at a very good price. I went with "drive Medical Design & Manufacturing" through Amazon.

The forearm crutches are essential to my independence as a person with a disability and these crutches are prefect and well made. They appear and feel strong and have push button pins to adjust forearm height and pins for leg part of crutch. The vinyl-coated arm cuffs can be pressed in to make them tighter or looser, depending on your comfort and size of forearm. The vinyl hand grips are very comfortable and because they are vinyl coated you get a good grip. YES, they do have extra-large tips which I like not only for the extra stability but also they will hopefully last longer than the smaller tips.

Their appears to be a lower cost set of crutches like these but I preferred to go with the "Heavy Duty" higher coast as I don't like to take chances buying the lower cost crutches as I couldn't tell form the description why the cost was lower than the ones I purchased unless it was because the lower priced was lighter.

1.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas Using Crutches for Four Decades 18 de junio de 2016

I have spina bifida and have been on crutches for 45yrs. These crutches I purchased (Drive model# 10403 rated for 300lb) had problems after just one month. First, the push-pins to adjust height came loose and slipped down the shaft several times (fall hazard), even after I made sure everything was adjusted and tightened correctly. Then, a short time after, a bolt that holds the arm cuff broke completely off. I am 5'5 and about 175lbs (about half the rated weight), and very active despite my disability. I am going to now purchase the Drive model# 10403HD (Heavy Duty rated for 500lb) and see how they are. Perhaps it was a defect on just my pair of crutches since I have never had this happen so soon on any pair I have ever owned. I use Drive and Guardian crutches exclusively.
2.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas Crutch grip height does not fit 6'-2" height! 30 de junio de 2016

Grips are 2" too low for a 6'-2" tall person. Since I cannot get a pair to fit that meet my weight requirement of 500#, I will have to pay to have two additional holes drilled to raise the grip height.

Well made and easy to use. So much better than the cane I was using previously. Important to note... The description makes you think you are only getting one crutch.... You are getting a pair.

They work better for my husband than his regular crutches did, and fit better in a vehicle. He does wish they were a couple of inches taller, but the price was much better than the other quote we got.
