3.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas Differences - Thoughts on SMALL Deluxe version 5 de diciembre de 2015

It's clear there are differences. If you're thinking about a grievous costume for your kid here are some considerations:

-The mask sucks. It sucks so bad you need to throw it away for health, safety, and general ugliness. It also smells so bad from the rubber/plastic stink you'll need to take the trash out afterwards. They sell nicer hard plastic grievous masks separately as toys, but even those aren't really practical which kind of ruins the look. My kiddo was fine without a mask so your mileage may vary.

-There's the basic version and the deluxe version. I won't rehash the differences, but basically the deluxe is a lot better. Buy deluxe or pick a different costume altogether.

-The suit itself, in SMALL, looks great. If your kid is super short, you may need to pin the cape up a bit or risk SERIOUS injury to your child via tripping hazard that could SNAP. THEIR. NECK. My kiddo is pretty short for the suit but was ok with several inches of cape ground clearance. Just know and look for it. VERY important.

-The cape really makes the costume look a lot better. I know it's a risk, but my boy loved it and it did look sharp. Just be careful and make adjustments if necessary with pins.

-Buy a lightsaber that lights up to go with it. Helps with cars seeing your kid and your kid will love it too. Another 20 bucks.

-Attaches at the back of the neck with Velcro squares that are sharp and dig into the child's neck. Put some tape or something over them after he puts the suit on to prevent irritation.

2.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas Disappointing mask 25 de septiembre de 2011

The body suit is like most "action character" costumes, but the mask is very disappointing and looks nothing like the picture in that it is VERY flimsy and not at all symmetrical. We tried to fold it in half and put it under a few heavy books to make the crease straight and to have the long side portions look even when being worn, but nothing is working. The side pieces are not even glued on the same way - it looks very cheap and the person who put it together apparently does not care what it looks like. Furthermore, it doesn't look "machine-like" - it looks more like the freakish "oozing flesh" or "old man" Halloween masks that you see year-to-year.

My son is almost seven and is fairly tall - his 4-6 costumes from last year do not fit properly as he is too tall, but the Medium 8-10 is too large. We'll have to make-do unless we find another costume, but I do wonder why there is such a jump between children's sizes for this costume. 4-6 and 8-10 is a huge gap ...

All-in-all, my son is disappointed but still willing to wear the costume as it is the ONLY General Grievous costume that we've been able to find. How upsetting that I spent $50 only to see the excitement turn to disappointment on my son's face.

I do not recommend this costume for your little Star Wars fan.
The electronic General Grievous mask is much whiter than the bone colored portions of this costume, but my son may be wearing that instead along with carrying his G.G. light sabers. However, if I'm just going to switch out the masks anyway, I might as well have made or purchased a cape and otherwise dressed him in gray or black. If we hadn't thrown away the packaging (we received the costume on trash day) it would definitely be going back.

About the look : it is what it is, surely not suitable for cosplay but right for a young kid to wear at Carnaval (I'm from Belgium).

About the prize : I must said it's maybe a little expensive for what it is, made in China but you have to pay the LucasArt "franchise" don't you ?

About the size : medium is intended for 8-10 years old kids but after reading some reviews here I decided to buy this size for my (nearly) 6 years old son. The idea was he'd be able to wear it over a pull-over and some denim pants (Carnaval happens during winter here), as a result : it fits perfectly under these conditions but my son is pretty tall.

About the kids' opinion : my son was delighted about it and got a lot of compliments at the Carnaval feast at school. All his friends were impressed.

My final word : if I have to choose I'd buy it again, finally it was a cheap way to see happiness in my son's eyes.

I read the reviews, bought a damaged box used costume. For the reasonable price, I can make a 7 yr old content with his much desired Gen Grievous. A few additions & tweaks, presto. I bought a medium, for a slim kid. It is mock neck tricot type thin knit fabric with sewn on raised foam gauntlets on arms, shins, with cupped shoulder top flaps in bone color slight pearlized w/ shading. Below the chest area, the skeleton is printed. There is neon green, steel grey, red & a bit of blue just under the breastbone area. There is a narrow attached cape, it falls from the back neck to the back of the calf. Red lined, plain grey back. The mask is rubbery bone color w/ characteristic cracks & red lines the eye area, good details from ear to ear, with hard plastic flanges glued to the side head/ear area. 2 Black elastics join with velcro.

Unless you are wanting to buy a grievous costume you have to super glue back together (the mask had one of the side pieces barely hanging onto it, and shoulder padding was coming off the costume too) right out of the package, and is chipped and worn all over the chest piece (not to mention the tissue paper they used to cover the chest pad stuck to it and pulled off parts of the costume when removed from the costume)... then this isn't for you.. If you want a crappy Halloween costume that you are going to cry over when you open it- Then buy this one.. Worst purchase ever.. and returning it is a bigger hassle then just fixing it and trying to make it work- plus Halloween is so close now he'd be left without an outfit, which is even sadder! Thanks for ruining my autistic son's Halloween! MUCH APPRECIATED!
