I don’t recall the last time a read a book in one day but that’s how engaging this book was. Easy to read and packed with so many principles, each chapter ended with an action plan from getting started to advanced, as well as recommended additional reading.

However the highlight for me as someone who has worked in international development for over 20 years, where we always advocate for capacity building was his own definition, captured as

“the method by which individuals seek, acquire and develop skills and abilities to consistently perform at a higher level in pursuit of their innate potential “

He then applied this to the 4 core areas of spiritual, intellectual, physical and emotional.

I found this intriguing as this is the basis for my concept of life coaching under my #honestmanagement business. In conclusion you need to be in touch with these 4 elements to really know yourself and need I say ELEVATE yourself to a better you. Highly recommended book. #lifecoaching #wellbeing #growthmindset #personaldevelopment

I've rated this book a five star (5*). My reason is simple. The book will help you to develop as a leader and will impact you to work on others to become leaders not followers. Every person who desires to empower himself and other must read this book.
Bob's writing used real life examples to explore and expound the frameworks on which the book is based as well practical actions to put the ideas to work. Ability to build capacity in these four areas of our lives - spiritual capacity, intellectual capacity, emotional capacity, and physical capacity will help us to grow as individuals.
This book is a must read if you want to improve as a person so as to impact your life and those around you.

Elevate provides an approach to improve one’s balance in life, improving and developing themselves as individuals and as leaders.

A well-structured approach that lets the reader pick on the different aspects they would like to tackle – what’s great is that there are guides for someone who is starting out and advanced ones when you are ready to move to the next level.

Lots of real-life proven examples and recommendations of other frameworks and publications to explore. Easy to dip in and out, into areas most relevant to you at a particular point in time.

One of the best things is the realisation just how often I could relate to the situations brought up on the book. I trust this will help me a long way for my self-betterment!
