I own a Epiphone Dot which I got cheap on EBay.
I also recently sold a Gibson 1970 ES335 that I played for years.
This BB king model has the same neck profile as my Dot, both are wider compared to the vintage Gibson ES335.
It reminds me more of a Les Paul I sold a while back, both in neck profile and weight.
Its too wide for my hands to feel comfortable.(Yes I have small hands)
I know I'm being picky here.
The collector that bought my old 1970 vintage ES 335 found that it had the thinness neck of the 20 he owns in his collection.
Yes these guitars vary from year to year, saw that with my own eyes after visiting the collection.
Other than that this is a beautiful guitar.
I just don't need another wall hanger and I am happy with the Epiphone SG Pro I got last year.
I may take it to my Luthier to have a new nut installed and have the action lowered or It may go back...
Update; I used the provided Amazon UPS return label to get this back to them, so easy.
As always super pleased with Amazon's customer service.
I would use Amazon again to buy a high-end guitar.
Fit and finish are outstanding, though I've heard that the gold on the hardware will flake off quickly, that doesn't especially bother me. The neck is smooth and sweet, the tuners are smooth and keep it in tune nicely, and I really can't wait to play around more with the dual outputs.
For any other guitar, I'd suggest that you play it before taking it home, but that just wasn't possible since these are a specialty item at most of the shops in town. I was pretty nervous about dropping 700 bucks only find that I didn't like it, but fortunately it was love at first sight. My only beef so far is the the action was set fairly high, but that can be taken care of as soon as I quit playing it long enough to adjust it (which makes me think that it really isn't much of a problem after all).
