5.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas Great printer for cheap!!! 22 de julio de 2011

It was really easy to set up, it's light weight, ink isn't as expensive as others and great overall printer for my dorm!

Update (8/3/13): So two years later and my printer is still going strong. I am surprised by all of the negative reviews, especially about the ink. The ink is relatively cheap and when one runs out you just replace it with that one ink cartridge. You do not need to replace them all. I have not had any of the issues all these other people have been complaining about. I have actually come back to give an update on my original review and bump it up to 5 stars from my original 4. This printer has outlasted and been through more than any printer I have ever owned and it is still going strong.

4.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas Seems like a good little printer 26 de octubre de 2011

Just recieved this printer and it seems like a good little printer. It does not come with a USB cable but since it has built in wifi, I figured there should be no issue. Well, during iunstall it wants you to connect temporarily through a usb cable. luckilly I had one from my old HP printer that worked. If they recommend a usb, they should include it though. Other then the minor hiccup of needing a not included USB cable, set up was a breeze. Print quality is great and speed is outstanding. My husband works in IT and his co-worker recommended this printer and I can see why. This is my first epson, I am done with HP after having 2 bust up in a manner of 1 1/2 years and I print a decent amount but not a heavy load by any means. Would recommend.

I purchased an epson printer that malfunctioned with it's paper feed just over one year from my date of purchase, so the limited warranty had expired. I had just bought all the ink cartridges required to print, because without the color ones filled, I couldn't print, even in b&w. Since I had spent $60 on printer ink, I decided I should give Epson another try. My original printer cost $80. In retrospect, I should just buy a new printer when my ink runs low. Instead, I bought an upgrade on my previous epson model, this one that is supposed to function wirelessly. I have wireless in my home and a macbook. I was able to connect the printer to my wifi and print no problem, but the scanner refused to find my computer. I tried using epsonscan as well as my macbook's scan function. I went online and found out that lots of folks have this problem and the solution is to purchase a usb cable. The scanner will not work with my macbook unless it is connect with said cable. The cable cost another $24 and renders the product's promise to be wireless, ineffective. With the wire, it works, but I am out the wireless option that I paid extra to enjoy. Bummer.

Not gonna lie: Wireless setup of this all-in-one happened in a matter of minutes! I'm copying, printing, and scanning like nobody's business right now! I was dreading getting this thing going because I've had harrowing experiences with other brands. Ahem. But I was able to follow the quick start instructions, connect to wireless, and start using the product very quickly.

I will say this - it is a portly printer. I have it on a smallish writing desk right now and I'm sure it's gonna be a fight to the finish between it, my laptop, and the desk lamp. So yeah, there are definitely other machines out there that take up less space. But the ease of use and quality of the scans and copies - not to mention the price point - have left me feeling very satisfied with this purchase.

I'm a grad student so I'll only be using it to do my work and save myself some trips to the local Kinko's. I don't and probably won't have any thoughts on the printer's photo quality or anything like that. But for color printing and all those other nifty things it does, it's great!

***The only thing that I don't understand about it is how to use the quick scan button (rather than the Epson scan on my computer that came with the installation). When I hit the button on the printer, all the prompts (PC/Email/PDF) search for a USB connection instead of finding my computer by wireless. If I can figure that out, this review gets a 5! And if someone here can help me figure that out, you get a prize! (not really)

1.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas Disappointed in this printer 25 de agosto de 2011

Initially we were very pleased with this printer, as time went on however it became more of a pain to deal with than it was worth.

There has been non stop alignment issues and time spent resolving these has been for nothing as they keep coming back.

The support from epson leaves something to be desired, after the second or third time correcting the alignment we contacted their support, they had use go through all of the settings and alignment. after two more support calls for the alignment issues their recommendation was print a test page before we print anything to see if the alignment is off so it doesn't waste ink and paper.

At the end of the day we just marked this off as a loss and bought a much better printer.
