It gets the job done. I held back from five stars for two main reasons. First, it's a hair flimsy; I currently have this holding up a young Annabelle hydrangea and it does fine, but I wonder whether it would be sturdy enough to hold up a bulkier/heavier/more aggressive plant. Second, the thing is a little bit of a pain to get into the ground. The three legs float completely freely, so a lot of times I found myself with two legs properly sited while the third just flopped around. This could have been easily fixed if I had a second pair of hands, but it shouldn't take two people to install a plant ring. I do have to give them credit for the separability of the ring; since my hydrangea was already several feet tall, it was a lot easier to just pull the ring apart, put it around the plant, and fasten it closed than if the ring was fixed. All in all, solid for the price, just make sure you get a friend when installing this on an existing plant.
Double Hoop a Must

The tall ornamental grass I planted was supposed to be a decidedly upright variety, but, in two different locations, has been nothing but floppy. I had no difficulty setting the legs/stakes into the ground and hooking the two hoops through the guides. It appears to be able to stand up to the weather, but it is too soon to say. It has been supporting the very large clump for a week with no problems. I did reduce my rating by one star because the metal is a smaller gauge than I had hoped. The circumference is just right for the size of the clump, but the weight of the grass required me to insert it into the soil more deeply than I would have preferred. I don't believe the single hoop would have been able to stabilize or show it off as well. Dumb luck, and a fair amount of soil amendments, kept the legs from hitting rocks (and bending?)
Cylindrical or Pyramidal Support.

This is my third Gardman's Double Hoop Plant Support Ring. They are sturdy, the quality is excellent, and the green color disappears into the foliage. The double hoop rings are both 16 inches in diameter but I create more of a pyramidal support by fastening the bottom of the long vertical rods to an eight-inch-diameter planter containing a vine-like plant and the resulting pyramid is really sturdy and provides all the support necessary for my plant.

Great for my heavier plants

Love this!! I have one plant I don't know what the name of it is but it has these heave stems but a few beautiful flowers and lots of leaves, often midway through the summer it falls over because of weight. So I bought this one as it started to bloom again to provide a bit of stability and support, it fits perfectly so I'm hoping the plant will stand on its own a bit longer.

These are invaluable for staking peonies and other bushy plants that would fall over without them.
