I am Flooded With Emotion and Speechless At The Same Time ByShayon November 15, 2015 This book is a serious eye opener for me. You hear in the news about just some of the things that goes on in Syria but Levant Fever gets deep down into the raw and uncut things that go on in Syria. After reading the first paragraph, I was hooked. It's almost like the book keeps reeling you in as to where you HAVE to keep reading because you just want to know what's going to happen next. While I was reading I started to become flooded with emotion, when you start to think about how these people were treated, not loved, not fed, literally fearing for their lives every single day. 14 years is a long time, but its even longer when you have to endure these types of conditions. What makes Levant Fever even more touching is that it's a true story. To read a book and know its fiction is one thing and to read an intense book like this and know everything that happened in it is real and actually happened to someone and is still happening.....it really makes you emotional. This is the only book I have ever read that seriously gave me a reality check and made e grateful for all the things I have in my life. Our problems are small compared to the problems that Wajdy Mustafa had. I would like to personally thank him for an amazing read. This is a true man of character and integrity and he can teach us all a valuable lesson and he does in Levant Fever Amazon.com 5.0 out of 5 starsCouldn't stop reading! ByEmily Collinson November 14, 2015 I'm amazed at the fact that Wajdy lived to tell his story. Wow. Just wow. The way he writes is so real and he gets to the point without dragging things out. I felt so much emotion while reading throughout the book, like the part where he talks about not getting fed breakfast, then lunch, then dinner, but then realizing that this was not the biggest issue, that in fact the place he was at was at a high risk for being bombed and I felt the fear as he was describing being trapped behind the black steel bars. Or, later on when he talks about going to the Palmyra prison and how it's reputation wasn't good at all. I literally sat down and read this entire book in one sitting. I couldn't stop reading. I'm the type that has a hard time staying focused but did not have this problem while reading this. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good read. This book has made me look around and think about things differently. I'm so thankful. I applaud the author for sharing his story . Amazon.com A must read! ByGeorge T.on November 14, 2015 All I can say - read this book now! A truly unique memoir of a man who was imprisoned and severely suffered for 14 years. Nevertheless, he survived to share his story with us! The author vividly describes the struggle of the Syrian people for a better future, and narrates a series of events that will leave you speechless. The book quickly catches your attention from the very beginning and doesn't let you go until the end. Not only it's a great read, but also makes you think and think again...
