Descripción del producto
"Neil Perry is one of the very few chefs whom I would consider to be a gastronomic 'global citizen.' With "The Food I Love" we get to experience his formidable knowledge and nonpareil sensitivity regarding the pleasures of the table, but in this case geared for those who love to cook at home. A tip of the hat to you, Neil, for this incredible work reminds me of why I got into this field in the first place!" -- Charlie Trotter
""The Food I Love" is a fantastic insight into how a great chef, with a passion for freedom in the kitchen, thinks and cooks at home. Neil's respect for the importance of ingredients, his informed advice on techniques, his New World rules and global knowledge make this book an essential for all who love to cook, eat and learn about the food we eat." -- Rose Gray, "River Cafe", London
Reseña del editor
It's a rare thing for an internationally renowned chef to admit to a passion for simple cherry tomato pasta or golden fried fish and chips with lots of garlicky aïoli, but that is exactly what award-winning chef Neil Perry does in this superb new book, The Food I Love. Taking its inspiration from the cooking of the Mediterranean, The Food I Love is, however, more than just a collection of recipes. Neil Perry has produced a book that can be utilized in a number of ways -- you can simply enjoy the 200 delicious recipes or you can be inspired by the thousands of suggested food combinations that work together to create superb dishes for breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert. This is home cooking at its very best: simple, seasonal and absolutely delicious. There is also straightforward advice on everything from how to properly hold a cook's knife to trussing chicken and filleting fish. Full of the enthusiasm and joy that comes from creating wonderful food from great ingredients, The Food I Love is a book that you will cook with, learn from and delight in many times over.

It sounds silly but he has also taught me a technique for cooking omelette - this morning I had a feta, tomato, rosemary and parmesan omlette. Was it in the book? Nope, but he has taught me the technique.
I've got a whole heap of cookbooks. Too many really. But many cookbook writers are amateurs. Neil Perry has spent a lifetime making brilliant food at the highest levels. And yet his genius is not to be pretentious or over complicated when cooking at home or teaching others to do so.
I used to think Perry was a prat with a ponytail. Now he is my western cooking god.
Sure the dust cover was marked but the book was in very good condition. I would not hesitate to buy from the marked down section again, but I have also got many books at good prices from the main section.
Well done Amazon....many thanks.
