I purchased this item to overcome the 999 shot limit built into the Nikon D3s and D700 intervalometers. This unit allows you to shoot indefinitely... either until your battery runs out or your cards fill up... so it solves my problem. It also allows you to shoot intervals in bulb mode, which the built-in intervalometers don't. Very nice for night work. Finally, it's a great replacement for the self-timer, either for self-portraits or simply to fire the shutter without touching the camera for maximum sharpness. Best of all, it's light, small, and has a classy design that complements the cameras. Nicely done.

UPDATE - 5/21/2011: A couple items. First, the power button on the remote control unit is too easy to activate, resulting in a lot of burned out lithium batteries that require a tiny philips screwdriver to replace. Would like to see the manufacturer correct this flaw while providing a way to open the case that doesn't require tools. Second, I've noticed that my D3s consumes much more battery power using its own intervalometer than it does when I'm using the Giga T Pro, which is another plus in the Giga's column.

I bought this a little while ago in preparation for events like the recent Supermoon Eclipse. It worked beautifully with my Nikon D5300. I set it to take a picture every minute. The program worked just fine except for the fact that I rushed myself just before the event and couldn't program it exactly as I wanted. It took Ange image every minute, but instead of just one shot, there was a burst of 4 or 5 shots. This was actually MY FAULT as I didn't program it correctly. The number of actuation so was set at 99 (max) so, @1 actuation every minute it lasted for 99 minutes. It as easy to reset it as all I had to do was press the start button again. So, I got 198 minutes for the event.
I didn't have to adjust the camera too much so I took out a lawn chair and sat in my driveway watching while the whole Supermoon/Eclipse event took place.
If I have any cons it's only that the programming instructions were a little confusing albeit very detailed.
I definite recommend the Hahnel Wireless timer.

When this thing worked it was amazing. I had issues where I would have to take the batteries out of the transmitter and reinstall before it would work. I had to do this so much, I left the screws out, and used a piece of duct tape to keep it together. OK. Pain, but what the hey.

Both devices power on. Both are on the same channel.

Now, the transmitter has stopped talking all together to the receiver on the camera. Nikon D90. When you depress the single large button on the transmitter, half way, it is supposed to send a signal to the receiver and its green light is supposed to go solid. The one on the transmitter does, the receiver on the camera just still flashes, in its "I am ready" (it lies) mode.
I ordered this on July 3, 2013. And now, December 7, 2015 it won't work. I mean $100 is still $100.

And yes the channels are the same on the receiver and the transmitter. See video.

5 stars x 2 - Product and customer service.
I went to the website and found a contact link. I requested info on being able to get my unit fixed.
Told them my problem. They had me ship it to them, and they replaced it with a new unit.
Only bad part was where I had to send it was in Ireland. I started the process the first part of December. Got the replacement back yesterday.

I was amazed they replaced it and I give them 100% for customer service.

Only hiccup, they didn't send a replacement battery for the receiver. I have to get one of those.

Anticipating happiness in my world. Any changes I will update the review.

Like others, when it works it was a joy and the range was good. I would very much recommend the product and the company.

I purchased this to go along with my Velbon Ultra Maxi M tripod and Canon G11 setup to get some Honeymoon 'couple' shots with the composition/setup I wanted, and not have to rely on a random stranger to take pictures for us.

As soon as the package arrived in the mail, I set about reading the manual and playing with all the features. In short, it works as advertised on the (Canon G-series cameras at least) for the RF remote shutter release, timed delay, bulb mode/long exposure, multiple exposures, etc. The wireless transmitter has a jack to plug the cable into and use as a 'wired' shutter release as well. The instructions do note, however, that the cable has to be plugged into the camera a certain way. Reverse the cable and the camera won't get the signal to release the shutter.

The unit has a back-light feature as well, which is handy for setting up the night time compositions, however, the batteries do take a hit from that as well. Which brings me to my first minor gripe with this unit. My main concern was the remote batteries dying out first as it utilizes the standard button cell CR2032 watch type battery. To my surprise, the receiver, which uses the (more expensive) CR2 lithium photo type battery died first. Luckily, it didn't happen during the week-long trip and hundreds of pictures we took with it. But I do wish battery life was a bit longer.

The second gripe I have, and I believe this has more to do with Canon, is that the receiver slots into the hot shoe accessory to keep things neat and out of the way on the camera (there are no hot shoe connections to the receiver unit -- it just sits up there) but in doing so, the flash is disabled. There is a small switch in the rail of the hot shoe that does this on the Canon G11. So if you need to use the on-board flash, the receiver has to just dangle off the side of the camera. It still works, it's just not pretty.

All in all, I'm happy with this unit as I've been able to get a lot more creative pictures than were previously possible (especially in just setting up the camera/tripod/remote in a corner and getting candid shots during parties and get-togethers).

I received this remote in the mail last night and I must say I love this remote! It works beautifully! I took it out of the package and, following the instructions, hooked it up to my Canon Rebel T3i (600D). The instructions were a little sketchy on how to change the channel on the transmitter, but a little playing around allowed me to get that figured out. By the way, to change the channel on the transmitter just press the D pad right and left till you get the channel, then up and down will allow you to change the channel to the receiver. Then, with that taken care of I tried to take a shot. Nothing. Seemed everything was good, so I hooked the transmitter up directly and it worked fantastically. Then I switched it back to wireless and it worked! I'd read maybe wifi would interfer, so I walked it away from my wireless router, but once it seemed I had everything synced I had no problems. I took several pictures, turned everything off then back on and everything worked flawlessly. So within 5 minutes I had everything working wonderfully, even close to my wireless router. So even though I had to tinker with it to get everything going I didn't feel that was enough to knock down a star. Compared to the remote release I had before this one (which wasn't a Hahnel), which took a lot longer to get working, this was a dream and the instructions were better on this one. I'm sold on Hahnel.
