Descripción del producto

Nobody can cause an earthquake... can they?

This is the question that troubles hotshot young FBI agent Judy Maddox in Ken Follet's hold-your-breath thriller.

Judy's boss has a grudge against her, so he gives her a dumb assignment: to investigate an anonymous threat from a group that claims that it can trigger earthquakes.

Judy's research leads her to maverick seismologist Michael Quercus, who tells her it is possible for an earthquake to be caused deliberately. And when a tremor in a remote desert area shows signs of being machine-generated, Judy knows he was right.

But who is responsible for the earthquake? Judy must find out before another tremor strikes. Helped by the erratic but attractive Michael, she races to pinpoint the terrorists' next target before they trigger the ultimate disaster.

With The Hammer of Eden Ken Follett is at the top of his form, delivering a state-of-the-art suspense thriller to rival his best work.

As usual with Ken Follett books, height speed plot development, interesting topics, perhaps just a little too giving in on the ecological theme, usually the good guys win in his books, that valley could have been saved?

La novela es simpática y se lee sin poderla dejar.la trama es algo surrealista y parece imposible que estas cosas pasen.de todos modos es entretenida aunque no sea el mejor Ken Follet

While there is good character development and an interesting, if totally unrealistic, plot line, "The Hammer of Eden" was a disappointment when compared with so many exceptional works of literature written by Ken Follett. Follett is one of my favorite contemporary authors and his works are usually very well researched. He has an ability to interweave actual happenings into his story lines but, in this book, he completely missed his commonly high level of excellence. I usually give his books the highest score possible but, in this case, it rates only a mid-level score.

The same story written by an unknown author as a first book may have gotten a high rating but having read all of Mr. Follett's writings prior to reading this book I was very disappointed. I cannot believe that Follett himself would choose this book as a representation of his best work.

5.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas Typical Ken Follett…EXCELLENT! 11 de enero de 2014

If you love Ken Follett, then this is another page turner for you. Loved the aging hippie anti-hero and identified with his passion for simplicity, even if he went about it the wrong way. A three-dimensional character, for sure. Along with good pacing and plot development, the author skillfully merges the story line of the commune along with that of the female FBI agent. A bit of humor sprinkled throughout also. That said, I don't think I have ever read a Ken Follett book I failed to love (and I've read them all), so I might not be the most objective reader.

This is can entertaining book, and worth reading 100%. The reason I gave it four stars is because, all other books I have read by Follett I have found difficult to put down and finished them very quickly. This book took much longer and I did not look as forward to getting to read as I normally do. But it was enjoyable and extremely creative...I appreciate the plot very much.
