This thing is amazing! This is the exact same mold as the original mobirate with only inverted colors for certain areas and the "screen" on the top saying "MOBILATE" rather than the standard "GOKAIGER". The detail is nice and painted while being quite subtle and flashy too (paradox I know but just go with it). This only comes with the AkaRed key of which is nicely detailed and has several sounds taken out and replaced. For example: typing in the year (i.e. 1990) would result in the original mobirate shouting out the name of the mecha for that year. This mobirate plays the activation sound (the one that plays after you turn it on) three times. With that being my only gripe I will say some of the codes that replaced the mecha sounds are entertaining. Pressing 1224 will result in a phrase in Japanese then Christmas Eve, 1225 results in Christmas Day, and so on through the motions. One mode that was taken out was the special VS mode where you'd press 0000, enter two ranger keys of Sentai teams (like Shinkenger and Goseiger) and it would say the title of the "movie". In its place we have a Sentai-bio mode where you press the same buttons, insert a key, and out comes a little blurb about the ranger or team. To me, this is really cool...provided you can understand Japanese.

Here's the pros and cons

Feels great in the hands
Great detail
Comes with an exclusive key

Mecha sounds were removed
Comes with one key

I say get it. For you fans who already have the Gokaiger Mobirate, I'd say unless you want AkaRed in your collection, staying with the original might be a good thing. However this Mobirate will also read the Go-Busters ranger keys so that is something to think about. If you don't have the original Mobirate and don't want to spend $100+ for just the mobirate (with three Keys), then get this. If you want both just to mess around with, then heck, get it!

ORDER OTHER KEYS. This only comes with AkaRed and can get really tiring to type in the Sentai's code in order to hear the sound. I ordered the Ranger Key Set 01 with this so I'd recommend you get your hands on some before they are not produced anymore.

Recently fell in love with Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger and ended up buying the Legend Mobirate. I didn't think I'd be able to even find one since the show ended a few years ago. It IS a Japanese product and the instructions provided are, of course, in Japanese, but a combination of paying attention to the diagrams and common sense will get you by. Requires two AAA batteries (not included) and you will need to use a pencil nib or paper clip to depress the tiny grey peg to release the battery compartment cover. It can be a bit loud, but it can be flipped open and the sabers snap out just like they do in the show when a key is inserted and turned. Found out you must raise the Ranger Key's arms up over its head so to speak before inserting it into the mobirate. I was happy to get the Akared Ranger Key along with it! I ordered mine from Marumi Japan, and it arrived much sooner than expected, in excellent shape, and with a nice personalized handwritten thank you note with two pieces of origami attached. It isn't for the little ones, as it is reasonably rugged but not indestructible, and of a size that fits an adult hand. I'm having a lot of fun with it, and I'm sure the folks who love this show will have a great deal of fun with it too.

so yes,,, this does more then the previous released model. it ALSO does less. you lose all commands involving mechas... i assumed it had the commands... but it doesnt. it does have an updated firmware allowing it to play go-buster ranger keys AND kamen rider keys from the movie ' super hero taisen: gokaiger x masked kamen rider'. aka red ranger key is a good addition. normal ranger keys come with decal stickers, but its a DX copy so its all one piece with a glossy finish. i love kaizoku sentai gokaiger, with that being said... if this is the only thing u choose to get from the series... DONT. get the sabre, and blaster like i did. if you have the original version... stick with it unless u want the freedom to use EVERY RANGER KEY. for the price it was... it was worth it. would i do it again? yes. would i do it if i didnt already love it? no. if you are iffy, pass it up. if you dont have the previous release, then this is worth it

This version is a great buy. It's obviously different from the original in a few ways. It only comes with one key (akared), it has a few paint alterations, and it has a few extra sounds. These extra sounds though, replace some of the other versions. With the legend version you can use gobuster keys and have holiday call outs by inputting dates such as 1225, but you lose the ability to launch the gokai galleon or the other robos such as daizyujin(mmpr megazord). Overall, very much worth it and a slightly cheaper alternative to the original. Speaking of, make sure you get the Japanese versions. Korean versions are completely new recordings. Unless you like it to shout captain force instead of gokaiger.

I recently got into the show and wanted to get this item before it either became hard to find. The package is beautiful! It shows all the red sentai's from the past. It is really an eye grabber. As for the item itself I was very very pleased. It does everything I had hoped for as well as more! It flips open. It has a varity of sounds. It requires 2 aaa batteries not included. If you know the number of your favorite sentai team push it in and toy talks. Example: 0016 Enter button it says something about the Zyurangers. So yeah, pretty awesome. It will recognize different keys. This toy came with only one. I was kinda bummed out it doesn't flip open like the show but it is cool. Still has that feel to it. I do plan on collecting the other keys. I recommend this to all the collectors!
